ATLANTA, Georgia, December 3. IN an incredibly exciting finish, Trojan's Jessica Hardy added the women's 100 free title to her 50 free win from early at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals.<\/p>\n

In a finish that featured just .09 seconds between first and fourth, Hardy clocked a 54.82 for the triumph. She came up a bit short of her 15th-ranked season best of 54.28 from Brazil. Colorado Stars' Missy Franklin, meanwhile, claimed her second silver of the meet to go with her two golds with a 54.86. Her top time is a fifth-ranked 53.63 from Summer Nationals. California's Dana Vollmer (54.88) and T2's Erika Erndl (54.91) also broke 55 seconds for third and fourth. Vollmer ranks ninth in the world with a 54.05 from Worlds, while Erndl is still tracking down a top 25 spot. <\/p>\n

Kara Lynn Joyce (55.24), Lia Neal (55.30), Hannah Wilson (55.48), Chantal Vanlandeghem (55.57), Victoria Poon (55.62) and Sandrine Mainville (55.82) also swam in the championship finale.<\/p>\n

Nina Rangelova clocked a 55.54 to win the B final, while Camille Muffat did not win a title for the first time this meet with a 12th-overall, and second in the heat time of 55.81. Julia Smit (55.86), Julia Wilkinson (55.86), Christine Magnuson (56.09), Brittany MacLean (56.28), Kate Dwelley (56.37), Jasmine Tosky (56.54), Erica Dagg (56.54) and Simone Manuel (56.54) earned the rest of the consolation finishes.<\/p>\n

Amanda Reason won the C final in 55.87, while Olivia Smoliga wound up second in 56.57. Heather MacLean (56.63), Samantha Cheverton (56.67), Whitney Burnett (56.69), Faith Johnson (56.76), Rachael Acker (57.03), Chelsea Nauta (57.06), Ann Fittin (57.47) and Mary Schneider (57.48) completed the bonus heat.<\/p>\n
