The Olympic gold medalist destroyed the field, winning the event by nearly a second. Her 55.00 was a new Championship record.<\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marie Wattel\u00a0<\/strong>earned runner up honors in 55.97. Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emilie Beckmann\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the podium with a 56.22.<\/p>\n<p>Taking fourth was Sjostrom&#8217;s fellow countrywoman\u00a0<strong>Louise Hansson\u00a0<\/strong>(56.56). Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ilaria Bianchi\u00a0<\/strong>touched fifth with a 56.65.
