Schedule of Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n The women’s 50 free prelims were highlighted by the usual suspects. Sweden’s\u00a0Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> posted the top time of the morning at a 23.84, while Denmark’s\u00a0Pernille Blume<\/strong> and\u00a0the Netherlands’\u00a0Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> qualified close behind with times of 23.96 and 23.97.<\/p>\n Qualifying fourth overall was Russia’s\u00a0Rozaliya Nasretdinova<\/strong> with a time of 24.03, just ahead of the Netherlands’\u00a0Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> and her time of 24.08.<\/p>\n France’s\u00a0Charlotte Bonnet<\/strong> (24.17), Russia’s\u00a0Maria Kameneva<\/strong> (24.28), and Norway’s\u00a0Susann Bjoernsen<\/strong> (24.42) picked up sixth through eighth place qualifications.<\/p>\n Also qualifying for the semi-finals heat were Finland’s\u00a0Mimosa Jallow<\/strong> (24.50), Italy’s\u00a0Erika Ferraioli<\/strong> (24.57), Spain’s\u00a0Lidon Munoz del Campo<\/strong> (24.59), Denmark’s\u00a0Julie Kepp Jensen<\/strong> (24.63), Belarus’\u00a0Yuliya Khitraya<\/strong> (24.70), France’s\u00a0Melanie Henique<\/strong> (24.78), Italy’s\u00a0Aglaia Pezzato<\/strong> (24.83), and\u00a0the Czech Republic’s\u00a0Barbora Seemanova<\/strong> (24.89).<\/p>\n Russia’s\u00a0Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> continued his stunning 2017 as he dashed to another World Junior and European Junior Record in the men’s 50 free. Kolesnikov posted a top qualifying time of 23.10 to lower his own records of 23.28, set in Kazan, Russia in November of 2017.<\/p>\n Jeremy Stravius<\/strong> of France grabbed the second place seed with a time of 23.36, followed by Italy’s\u00a0Simone Sabbioni<\/strong> and his time of 23.50.<\/p>\n Close behind Sabbioni was a tie for the fourth place seed between Romania’s\u00a0Catalin-Paul Ungur<\/strong> and Belarus’\u00a0Pavel Sankovich<\/strong>. The duo posted matching times of 23.52.<\/p>\n Christian Diener<\/strong> of Germany turned in the sixth fastest time of the morning with a 23.53, just ahead of Poland’s\u00a0Kacper Stokowski<\/strong>‘s 23.54 and Romania’s\u00a0Robert Glinta’s\u00a0<\/strong>23.59.<\/p>\n Qualifying ninth through sixteenth were Italy’s\u00a0Niccolo’ Bonacchi<\/strong> (23.66), Switzerland’s\u00a0Thierry Frederic Bollin<\/strong> (23.77), Russia’s\u00a0Nikita Ulyanov<\/strong> (23.84), Greece’s\u00a0Apostolos Christou<\/strong> (23.88), Portugal’s\u00a0Alexis Manacas Santos<\/strong> (23.91), Ireland’s\u00a0Conor Ferguson<\/strong> (23.97), Belarus’\u00a0Viktar Staselovich<\/strong> (23.97), and Germany’s\u00a0Marek Ulrich\u00a0<\/strong>(23.97).<\/p>\n Vitalina Simonova<\/strong> continued the top seed heat for Russia by claiming the top spot in the women’s 200 breast prelims. She posted a time of 2:20.51 to narrowly lead the qualifying field.<\/p>\n Qualifying hot on Simonova’s heals were Spain’s\u00a0Jessica Vall Montero<\/strong> and\u00a0Marina Garcia Urzainqui<\/strong> with times of 2:20.58 and 2:20.59 respectively.<\/p>\n Fanny Leculyse<\/strong>\u00a0of Belgium posted a 2:21.03 to qualify fourth overall, followed by Denmark’s\u00a0Rikke Moeller Pedersen<\/strong> and her time of 2:21.15.<\/p>\n Great Britain’s\u00a0Jocelyn Ulyett<\/strong> (2:21.88), Germany’s\u00a0Jessica Steiger<\/strong> (2:22.94), and France’s\u00a0Fanny Deberghes<\/strong> (2:23.67) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Laszlo Cseh<\/strong> of Hungary nabbed the top seed in the men’s 200 fly prelims, stopping the clock at a time of 1:52.27. Qualifying close on his heels was Russia’s\u00a0Aleksandr Kharlanov<\/strong> with a time of 1:52.34.<\/p>\n Greece’s\u00a0Andreas Vazaios<\/strong> posted a 1:52.80 for the third place seed, followed by Denmark’s\u00a0Viktor Bromer<\/strong> and his time of 1:53.00.<\/p>\n Tamas Kenderesi<\/strong> of Hungary grabbed fifth in prelims with a 1:53.45, while Norway’s\u00a0Tomoe Zenimoto Hvas<\/strong> was sixth with a 1:53.61.<\/p>\n Estonia’s\u00a0Kregor Zirk<\/strong> and the Netherlands’\u00a0Joeri Verlinden<\/strong> rounded out the top eight with times of 1:53.75 and 1:54.13.<\/p>\n Germany’s\u00a0Sarah Koehler<\/strong> led a trio of 4:04’s to the final of the women’s 400 free. Koehler earned the top seed with a time of 4:04.31, followed by Spain’s\u00a0Melanie Costa Schmid<\/strong> (4:04.56) and Hungary’s\u00a0Boglarka Kapas<\/strong> (4:04.84).<\/p>\n Kathryn Greenslade<\/strong> of Great Britain took fourth in prelims with a 4:05.35, followed by Liechtenstein’s\u00a0Julia Hassler’s<\/strong> 4:05.90.<\/p>\n Russia’s\u00a0Veronica Andrusenko<\/strong> (4:05.97), Italy’s\u00a0Simona Quadarella<\/strong> (4:06.06), and Portugal’s\u00a0Diana Margarida Dureas<\/strong> (4:06.97) completed the top eight qualifiers.<\/p>\n Belarus’ relay of\u00a0Pavel Sankovich<\/strong>,\u00a0Ilya Shymanovich, Yauhen Tsurkin<\/strong>, and\u00a0Anton Latkin<\/strong> turned in the top qualifying time of the men’s 4×50 medley relay with a 1:32.29.<\/p>\n Qualifying second overall was Russia’s relay team of\u00a0Nikita Ulyanov, Kirill Prigoda, Aleksandr Sadovnikov,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Mikhail Vekovishchev<\/strong> with a 1:32.87.<\/p>\n Germany picked up the third place seed with a 1:33.44, followed by Poland’s 1:34.12.<\/p>\n Italy (1:34.18), Finland (1:34.39), Turkey (1:34.39), and the Netherlands (1:34.72) also qualified for finals.<\/p>\n The Russian medley relay team of\u00a0Anastasia Fesikova, Natalia Ivaneeva, Rozaliya Nasretdinova,<\/strong> and\u00a0Maria Kameneva<\/strong> nabbed a solid first place seed in prelims of the 4×50 medley relay with a time of 1:45.88.<\/p>\n Picking up the second place seed was the Dutch relay team of\u00a0Kira Toussaint, Kim Busch,\u00a0Maaike de Ward,<\/strong> and\u00a0Tamara van Vliet<\/strong> with a combined 1:46.38.<\/p>\n The third place seed was earned by France with a 1:46.43, just ahead of Finland’s 1:46.82.<\/p>\n Poland (1:47.23), Italy (1:47.37), Sweden (1:47.40), and Denmark (1:48.07) qualified fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n The fifth and final morning of the 2017 European SC Championships has come and gone, setting the stage for one final night of fast racing.
