BOSTON, Massachusetts, November 12. THE No. 18 ranked men's swimming and diving team notched another win Saturday in a double dual meet against Fordham University and Boston University.<\/p>\n
"Our guys have done really well here," said A&M swimming Head Coach Jay Holmes. "We've had energy all three days, whether in the pool or on the side of the pool. That's what we were asking the guys to do here."<\/p>\n
The Aggies took 10 first places finishes on the day, including nine individual victories and one relay finish.<\/p>\n
Sophomore diver Hayden Jones set new pool records in two events as he led the diving squad, as he took the top spot in both the 1-meter (374.15) and 3-meter (386.10) springboard events.<\/p>\n
Hayden's scores led the A&M diving squad, which took the top three spots in both diving events. Sophomore transfer Antonio Page-Kahn took second place and junior Paul Xiques finished third on both boards. Page-Kahn scored 290.25 and 333.85 and Xiques scored 269.21 and 273.00 on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, respectively.<\/p>\n
"We were really trying this meet to get some of our other divers their qualifying scores, and we did just that," said A&M head diving coach Jay Lerew. "Then Hayden goes and sets the pool record on both boards. That was really special."<\/p>\n
Also grabbing wins for the Aggies were senior John Ariens in the 100-yard backstroke (50.47), sophomore Henrik Lindau in the 100-yard freestyle (46.85), Simon Frank in the 200-yard backstroke (1:52.59), sophomore Kyle Troskot in the 50-yard freestyle (20.89), senior Boris Loncaric in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.26), senior Amini Fonua in the 100-ard breaststroke (56.64) and John McClure in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:37.48).<\/p>\n
Holmes said that Frank's swim in the 200-yard backstroke was a swim that stood out.<\/p>\n
"The 200 back is somewhat of a new event for Simon, so far we've used him in it in every meet now," Holmes said. " We told Simon that he needed to win it, and that's what he did. He really swam hard and gave a lot of effort."<\/p>\n
The Aggies next action will be in the Tennessee Invitational in Knoxville, Tenn. on Nov. 16.<\/p>\n
