The 35-year-old has had a storied career that includes two World Championship titles in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-champs-day-5-evening-session-magnini-pulls-out-victory-in-mens-100-freestyle-final\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2005<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-championships-gold-shared-by-filippo-magnini-and-brent-hayden-in-100-freestyle\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2007<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and and Olympic bronze medal from 2004. Ledecky has continued to be one of the most dominant swimmers in the pool in 2017, leaving World Championships with six medals, her most ever in a single Championship, and five golds. She also helped Stanford to their first team NCAA title since 1998 in her freshman season with the Cardinal. This is Ledecky\u2019s third time receiving the honor and the second year in the row she received it. The Para World Champs were originally scheduled for late September but were unexpectedly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ipc-postpones-world-para-swimming-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">delayed a week before following a devastating earthquake in Mexico City<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Backstroker <\/span><b>Robert Griswold <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the first winner for Team USA in the men\u2019s S8 100 backstroke (1:04.17), the first world title of his career. That kicked off a nine-medal performance by Team USA on night one that included three gold medals. <\/span><b>Jessica Long<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who was selected as a captain for Team USA,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">continued that streak on day two, contributing to a 10-medal haul by Team USA with three individual titles in the SB7 100 breaststroke (1:35.48), the S8 100 freestyle (1:06.83) and in the 400 34-point free relay alongside teammates <\/span><b>Hannah Aspden<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>McKenzie Coan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Natalie Sims<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Tons of big Division I schools, including Texas, Georgia, Cal, and Michigan were competing across the country this weekend, with lots of fast times thrown down across the country. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/sidearmstats.com\/texas\/swim\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Down in Texas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Joseph Schooling<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Justin Wright<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and <\/span><b>Riley Scott <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all threw down nation leading times as Texas, USC and University of Arizona, among others, duked it out in Austin. Post-grad and National Team member <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/the-legend-of-zane-grothe-grows-with-record-crushing-mile\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Zane Grothe <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the star of the meet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, taking down two big American distance records in the 500 and 1,650 yard freestyles. Grothe started off the meet <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/zane-grothe-smashes-american-record-in-500-free-to-break-408-for-first-time\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by becoming the first man under 4:08 in the 500 free<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, breaking <\/span><b>Clark Smith\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">American record from last year with a 4:07.25.
