PHOENIX, Arizona, November 11. DURING the past week, the following meet managers took full advantage of uploading their results to the Swimming World meet results section of the website.<\/p>\n
CSL-South Varsity and Junior Varsity Championships
\nThe Central Suburban League-South held its girls championship meet Nov. 4-5 at Glenbrook South High School in Deerfield, Ill. The meets were held in short course yards.<\/p>\n
The junior varsity competition took place Nov. 4. New Trier nearly swept first places in all the events. Only Glenbrook South’s Diana Capota broke through the New Trier onslaught with her 1:00.24 league record in the 100 back.<\/p>\n

The varsity teams stepped up to the blocks the next day. New Trier comfortably won with 501 points to Glenbrook South’s 291, Evanston’s 259, Maine South’s 171, Niles West’s 134 and Waukegan’s 24.<\/p>\n

Florida 2A-Region 3 League Championships
\nThe Florida 2A-Region 3 Championships took place Nov. 5 in St. Petersburg. The meet was hosted by Osceola High School. The meet was swum in short course yards.<\/p>\n
Three swimmers captured two event each: Tarpon’s Kelsey Buckley (100 free, 52.36; 200 IM, 2:09.20), Lakewood Ranch’s Danielle Valley (200-500 free, 1:51.87-4:54.48); and Calvin Bryant from Osceola (200-500 free, 1:47.67-4:42.76).<\/p>\n
Holy Names (436 points) captured first in the women’s race, followed by Osceola’s 346.5, Lakewood Ranch’s 265, Tarpon’s 163 and Sickles’ 156. Jesuit was the victor in the men’s competition, scoring 348 poitns to Harmony’s 272.5, Lakewood Ranch’s 267 and Winter Haven’s 215.5. Lakeland beat out Osceola for the fifth spot by a half-point, 163-162.5.<\/p>\n

New England Invitational
\nKeene State College played host to the New England Invitational, held Nov. 5 at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vt. The meet was held in short course yards.<\/p>\n
MIT’s Christy Rogers and Emmie Ryan both grabbed three titles apiece. Rogers took first in the 50 free (24.91), 100 back (59.57) and 50 breast (30.96), while Ryan topped the field in the 100 (53.83), 200 (1:53.48) and 500 free (5:01.21). Teammate Anna Kokensparger took charge in the 100 fly (58.11) and 200 IM (2:10.83).<\/p>\n
Two triple-event winners also emerged on the men’s side. MIT”s Wyatt Ubellacker took charge in the 100 free (46.39) plus both fly events (50 fly, 22.48; 100 fly, 50.51). Keene State’s Drew Ledwith excelled in the distance events with his triumphs in the 500 (4:37.50) and 1000 free (9:25.62) plus the 400 IM (4:10.94).<\/p>\n

BPR “B” Fall Challenge
\nDevelopmental swimmers in the Allegheny Mountain LSC got a chance to shine at the BPR “B” Fall Challenge, held in Bethel Park, Pa., Nov. 5-6. The meet was swum in short course yards.<\/p>\n
The Tidal Waves’ Riley Stevenson was victorious in five events in 11-12 girls to highlight the girls’ events: the 200 free, 100 back, 50 breast, 200 fly and 100 IM. On the boys’ side, Nicholas Graziano, swimming for Greensboro YMCA, claimed firsts in the 10-and-under boys 100 free, 50 breast, 50 fly and 100 IM.<\/p>\n

Wadsworth Junior Borough Championships
\nThe Wadsworth Junior Borough Championships, a developmental steppingstone for 8- to 11-year-old swimmers, took place Nov. 6 at the Putney Leisure Centre in London. The meet was swum in a 33 yard pool. Leander took first in a three-team race, scoring 529 points to Wadsworth’s 477.5 and BJSC Tooting’s 126.5.<\/p>\n

EPSC Level 3 Winter Open
\nThe EPSC Level 3 Winter Open was contested in short course meters Nov. 5 at the Southbury Leisure Center in Great Britain. Among the top swimmers at the competition was Phoenix’s Meghan Byrne, who took first in six events as a 10-year-old: the 100-200 free, 200 back, 100-200 breast and the 200 IM.<\/p>\n

Action Championships
\nThe Action Swimming Academy held its first-ever Action Championships Oct. 28-30 at the Kings Park Swimming Pool Complex in Durban, South Africa. The meet was held in long course meters.<\/p>\n
