But his time was almost six seconds short of his own American record, set earlier this year at the NCAA championships.<\/p>\n<p>After the race, Kalisz explained in an interview with\u00a0<em>Swimming World<\/em> that the swim had been too sloppy for his liking, and he explained that that&#8217;s why he needs racing experience so badly, even at this time of the year.
