PHOENIX, Arizona, October 31. JUST a day before boarding a plane to head to Singapore as part of a FINA World Cup trip, Swimming World<\/i> Female High School Co-Swimmer of the Year Jasmine Tosky made her mind up on where she will be headed for college. Meanwhile, Princeton's Andrea Kropp, who once was a Swimming World<\/i> five-star in the Class of 2010, will be leaving the Ivy League to return to her home state.<\/p>\n

Tosky<\/a>, who is a six-star recruit in the Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings system, has elected to attend Southern California, as confirmed by PASA head coach Tony Batis. Tosky provides Dave Salo with a definitive weapon, as she can score and compete for an NCAA title in nearly every event. She already owns five times that would have put her into the A final at the 2011 NCAA Division I Championships: 200y free 1:44.11; 100y fly 0:51.92; 200y fly 1:54.63; 200y IM 1:54.80; 400y IM 4:04.65. Meanwhile, her 200-yard breast (2:10.56) top time would have put her into the B final last year as well.<\/p>\n

Tosky really made a major push into the upper echelon of recruits by becoming the first person to break Misty Hyman's legendary high school record in the 100-yard fly. Tosky clocked a 51.92 during prelims of the CIF Central Coast Section Championships to break the oldest girls record in the national high school record books, as Hyman had owned the standard with a 52.41 from 1996.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Class of 2010 five star Kropp<\/a> will be leaving Princeton to also attend Southern California. Kropp finished her freshman year at Princeton by winning the 100 and 200 breaststroke events at the Ivy League Championships, finishing with Princeton records both of those events. She will be redshirting this year, before being available for USC in the 2011-12 season.<\/p>\n

USC had plenty of top talent heading to Los Angeles. Six-star Kendyl Stewart<\/a> and five star Henriette Stenkvist<\/a> are also joining the women's squad, while five star Ted Singley<\/a> and four-star Maclin Davis<\/a> are also pledged to compete for USC.<\/p>\n
