For more information about Agon, visit their website <a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/p>\n<p>At the 2017 NYSPHSAA Girls Swim and Dive Championships the team from Pittsford opened the finals session with a dominant victory in the 200 medley relay.\u00a0<strong>Becca Evans<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sarah Cooper<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Megan Deuel<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Sarah Smith\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:43.92, nearly four seconds ahead of the next best team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe Stepanek<\/strong>, a sophomore from Northport Commack, raced ahead of the field in the 200 freestyle, winning the event in 1:47.63, just three tenths shy of the state record. Fox Lane&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Noelle Kaufmann\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.98) and Ursuline&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kate Amar\u00a0<\/strong>(1:52.46) were second and third. Stepanek also won the 100 freestyle, clearing 50 with a 49.93. Pittsford&#8217;s Evans (50.94) and Penfield&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Toni Naccarella\u00a0<\/strong>(51.26) followed.<\/p>\n<p>Amar&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Josephine Panitz\u00a0<\/strong>earned 200 IM gold with a 2:02.68. Evans added a silver to her medal collection in 2:03.62. Finishing third was Cornwall&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jessica Pryne\u00a0<\/strong>(2:04.56). Pryne later won\u00a0500 freestyle gold. The sophomore touched in 4:52.72. Pelham&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madison Hartigan\u00a0<\/strong>(4:57.87), Mamaroneck&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kim Jogis\u00a0<\/strong>(4:58.05) and Clarkstown&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Evangelista\u00a0<\/strong>(4:59.14) all cleared five minutes as well.<\/p>\n<p>Penfield went one-two in the 50 freestyle as senior\u00a0Naccarella<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and sophomore\u00a0<strong>Serafina Viola\u00a0<\/strong>were the first two to the wall in 23.45 and 23.52 respectively. Oceanside&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Catherine Stanford\u00a0<\/strong>placed third (23.84).<\/p>\n<p>The state diving title came down to a mere point. Newburgh Free Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Danielle Scarano\u00a0<\/strong>scored 495.80 points while Queensbury&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Megan Cook\u00a0<\/strong>totaled 494.80 points. Brighton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Butler\u00a0<\/strong>was not far back with 484.45 points.<\/p>\n<p>Pittsford&#8217;s Deuel earned her second victory of the day with a 54.23 100 fly. Burnt Hills Scotia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Olivia Jack\u00a0<\/strong>and Scarsdale&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joy Jiang\u00a0<\/strong>earned silver and bronze in 55.00 and 55.53.<\/p>\n<p>Pittsford kept the relays rolling as Evans,\u00a0<strong>Molly Brennan<\/strong>, Smith, and Deuel clocked a 1:35.52 in the 200 freestyle relay. Penfield&#8217;s Viola, <strong>Mari Naccarella<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Anna Baumer<\/strong>, and Toni Naccarella were runners up in 1:37.05, a half second ahead of Bethlehem Central&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Syndey Sorbello<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Maggie Hartman<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Anna Bernasconi<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Megan Novak<\/strong> (1:37.52).<\/p>\n<p>Deuel was back again, this time picking up 100 backstroke gold in 54.83. Fredonia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Riley Drummond\u00a0<\/strong>(55.48) and Niskayuna&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yunfan Dong\u00a0<\/strong>(55.80) placed second and third.<\/p>\n<p>After a runner up finish in the 100 fly senior Jack won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.06. Great Neck South&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jessica Whang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.77) was on Jack&#8217;s heels. Panitz placed third in 1:03.66.<\/p>\n<p>Penfield took down Pittsford in the final relay. Naccarella, Nenadic, Viola, and Naccarella touched in 3:32.60 to Pittsford&#8217;s Brennan, <strong>Sarah Minnigh<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sadie Wallis<\/strong>, and Brennan&#8217;s 3:33.78.<\/p>\n<p>Team scores were not yet available.
