Bellevue took home the 3A state title with one relay state record, while\u00a0the team from Lakeside took down three state records. With a number of relay and individual victories Newport won the 4A meet.<\/p>\n<h2>2A<\/h2>\n<p>North Kitsap&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Isabel Henrdyx<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Claire Stone<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Izy Iral<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Eleanor Beers\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 medley relay with a 1:50.06. The team also won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:40.35 (names of relay\u00a0swimmers were not yet available).<\/p>\n<p>Beers&#8217; anchor speed showed when she topped the 50 freestyle in 23.65, a half second ahead of the competition. She won gold again with a 50.99 100 free.<\/p>\n<p>Naches Valley&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ella Van<\/strong> <strong>Troba<\/strong>, a senior,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:53.86 to win the 200 freestyle ahead of\u00a0<strong>Reegan Weber\u00a0<\/strong>(1:54.35). Van Troba went on to win the 500 freestyle by nine seconds with her 5:04.46. Aberdeen&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anna Weber\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the 100 breaststroke state title in 1:04.40.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abby Russell\u00a0<\/strong>of Liberty raced to the 200 IM state title with her 2:08.74.<\/p>\n<p>Three women cleared a minute in the 100 fly. Senior\u00a0<strong>Kira Crane\u00a0<\/strong>from Klahomya was first with a 57.95.\u00a0<strong>Chloe Partsch\u00a0<\/strong>(58.59) and\u00a0<strong>Rylee Denney\u00a0<\/strong>(59.36) followed. Further team scores were not yet available.<\/p>\n<p>Lakeside won the 200 medley relay by four seconds, setting a new state record.\u00a0<strong>Amy Tan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Allison Su<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Isabel Chien<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Mengmeng Gibbs<\/strong>\u00a0combined for a 1:44.58. It was a big day for Tang. The freshman also won the 100 and 200 freestyles, both in state record time. She touched in 1:47.93 in the 200 free, nearly four seconds ahead of second. In the 100 Tang recorded a 49.88.<\/p>\n<p>Also a double winner was Squalicum&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yanran Le<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/wiaa-100-breast-champ-yanran-le-verbally-commits-to-columbia-university\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Columbia University commit<\/a> posted a 2:05.42 to win the 200 IM and a 1:03.18 to capture 100 breaststroke gold.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Janelle Rudolph\u00a0<\/strong>of Bellevue clocked a 23.02 to dominate the 50 freestyle. She was also a double winner. Rudolph&#8217;s second gold came in the 100 backstroke with a 54.80.\u00a0Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Delora Li\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 56.30 for 100 fly gold. The team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aneta Wyzga\u00a0<\/strong>dipped under five minutes to win the 500 free in 4:58.50. Lakeside&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nathalie Valdman\u00a0<\/strong>(5:00.91) was second.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman\u00a0<strong>Kayli Kersavage\u00a0<\/strong>won one meter diving with a 395.80, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Helene Synnott\u00a0<\/strong>with 395.65 and\u00a0<strong>Sarah Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>with 395.50 points.<\/p>\n<p>Su,\u00a0<strong>Insley Carpenter<\/strong>, Valdman, and Tang swam a 1:36.70 for 200 freestyle relay gold for Lakeside. The junior won the event in 1:48.25. Also finishing well ahead of the field was\u00a0<strong>Elli Straume\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:50.04. Groysman&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Samantha Baron\u00a0<\/strong>added to Newport&#8217;s victory tally with a 2:02.71 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Grace Felner\u00a0<\/strong>(2:03.45)\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Christina Bradley\u00a0<\/strong>(2:03.76) rounded out the podium.<\/p>\n<p>The 50 freestyle was quick.\u00a0<strong>Emma Carlton,\u00a0<\/strong>a senior from Mount Vernon, touched in 22.58.\u00a0<strong>Gabrielle Dang\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 22.95. Both girls cleared the meet record, a 22.96 from 2013. Carlton also took home the state record, lowering the 22.92 posted by\u00a0<strong>Leona Jennings\u00a0<\/strong>in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Carlton came back to lead a loaded 100 fly heat. She touched in 53.37, just .27 shy of the state record. Behind her was\u00a0<strong>Jazlynn Pak\u00a0<\/strong>(54.92),\u00a0Baron (55.18) and\u00a0<strong>Shayla Markle\u00a0<\/strong>(55.47).<\/p>\n<p>Eastlake&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kennedy Cribbs\u00a0<\/strong>out dove the competition, scoring 425.45 points.<\/p>\n<p>After her runner up performance in the 50 free, Dang got the gold in the 100 free with a 49.98. Just behind her in 50.06 was Bradley.<\/p>\n<p>Skyline&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah DiMeco\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 4:49.11 to win the 500 freestyle, only four tenths ahead of\u00a0Groysman<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(4:49.54). Mount Vernon senior\u00a0<strong>Emma Frey\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 55.04 for the 100 backstroke victory. Jackson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chloe Limargo\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.51) took was the 100 breaststroke champion.<\/p>\n<p>Newport won another relay, and this time in state record fashion. Baron, Zimmerman, Wang, and <strong>Jaime Chen<\/strong>\u00a0touched in 1:36.26.<\/p>\n<p>Skyline and Newport broke the 400 freestyle state record (3:28.88), set by Bellevue earlier this year.
