{"id":283826,"date":"2017-11-10T13:30:29","date_gmt":"2017-11-10T20:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=283826"},"modified":"2017-11-17T10:50:31","modified_gmt":"2017-11-17T17:50:31","slug":"chinas-jianjiahe-wang-earns-400-free-world-junior-record-in-beijing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/chinas-jianjiahe-wang-earns-400-free-world-junior-record-in-beijing\/","title":{"rendered":"China&#8217;s Jianjiahe Wang Earns 400 Free World Junior Record In Beijing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the final cluster in the FINA World Cup competition series got underway in Beijing today, a couple of records fell as we saw fast swimming all\u00a0over the pool.<\/p>\n<p>The first record came in the women&#8217;s 400m freestyle with\u00a0<strong>Jianjiahe Wang<\/strong> becoming the first junior to ever break 4:00 in the SCM 400 freestyle by swimming a\u00a03:59.69. Wang was also the only swimmer in the entire field to get under the 4:00 barrier. Wang is coming off a WJR in the 800m freestyle at the World Cup meet in Doha just a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>Technically Wang is the first ever Junior World Record holder in this event because FINA only started recognizing SCM World Junior Records in January of 2015.\u00a0After January of 2015, FINA set &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/fina-short-course-world-junior-records\/\" target=\"_blank\">benchmarks<\/a>&#8221; in place of an actual time a junior swimmer previously recorded.
