IAN Thorpe has announced that he will be eschewing a normal meet schedule when he returns from retirement at the Singapore stop (Nov. 4-5) of the FINA World Cup circuit.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <i>Sydney Morning Herald<\/i>, Thorpe has entered the 100 IM and the 100 fly at the Singapore stop, and is staying away from the events (100, 200 free) he has planned on targeting to make the Olympic team.<\/p>\n<p>Thorpe will then swim the 100 IM and 100 fly at the Beijing (Nov. 8-9) stop before adding the 100 free to his docket in Tokyo (Nov. 12-13). <\/p>\n<p>&quot;He was affected for just a couple of days last week but he&#39;s back in the water,&quot; Thorpe&#39;s manager Dave Flaskas told AAP about a chest infection. &quot;I spoke to him last night (Sunday night) and he&#39;s much better and I don&#39;t think there&#39;s any doubts or any concerns.
