California claimed third place with a 7-5 victory over USC. For complete results from the Collegiate Cup,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/14wluLy_IWblkf_e6tDrTb4TMGkkHPUWL9FBVwas-Lm0\/edit#gid=1564205775\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/14wluLy_IWblkf_e6tDrTb4TMGkkHPUWL9FBVwas-Lm0\/edit%23gid%3D1564205775&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1510105656007000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG4-rsqpMLCw4Gwh9RSi-mAnJFH9w\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the title match the New York Athletic Club jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second quarter behind three goals from <strong>Jamie Neushul<\/strong>. Stanford rallied to get back into the match and tied the game up in the fourth quarter on an <strong>Aria Fischer<\/strong> goal with <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_927995011\"><span class=\"aQJ\">1:41<\/span><\/span> to play in the match. Final attempts at the goal faltered on both sides leading to the shootout.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford took the early lead in the shootout after <strong>Makenzie Fischer<\/strong> converted. The Cardinal would be stopped on their next three attempts as <strong>Ashleigh Johnson<\/strong> came up big in net for New York. Neushul and <strong>Colleen O&#8217;Donnell<\/strong> connected for New York to give NYAC a one goal lead. <strong>Shannon Cleary<\/strong> scored for Stanford to even the score in the fifth round but the Cardinal would need a stop to prolong the game. New York turned to <strong>Stephania Haralabidis<\/strong> who scored giving New York the one goal victory. Johnson and <strong>Gabby Stone<\/strong> combined to finish with eight saves for New York while Julia Herman posted six saves for the Cardinal.<\/p>\n<p>In the third place game the Cal Bears jumped out to a 3-1 lead on two goals from <strong>Clair Sonne<\/strong>. They would build the lead to four by intermission going ahead 4-2. They would expand the lead to 6-2 after three quarters as <strong>Carla Carrega<\/strong> would score twice. USC battled back scoring three of the next four goals to close within two at 7-5 with <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_927995012\"><span class=\"aQJ\">1:26<\/span><\/span> to play in the game. They would get no closer in the match and fall by the same two goal margin. <strong>Annika Jensen<\/strong> and <strong>Brianna Daboub<\/strong> scored twice each in the loss.<\/p>\n<p>As for the rest of the standings, the UCLA Bruins took fifth place with a 10-9 win over China while seventh place saw Pacific edge Hawaii in a shootout 11-10. In ninth place USA 1 slid past Michigan 8-5 with San Jose State defeating host <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/?q=Fresno+State+9-5&amp;entry=gmail&amp;source=g\" target=\"_blank\">Fresno State 9-5<\/a> for 11th place. UC Irvine edged USA 2 by a 6-5 score to claim 13th place and rounding things out was Marist defeating Pomona-Pitzer 11-8 for 15th place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_927995013\"><span class=\"aQJ\">On Saturday<\/span><\/span>, Fresno State picked up their first pre-season win in program history with a 9-8 win over USA 2.
