{"id":283268,"date":"2017-11-06T06:52:48","date_gmt":"2017-11-06T13:52:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=283268"},"modified":"2017-11-06T06:52:48","modified_gmt":"2017-11-06T13:52:48","slug":"2017-fina-diving-grand-prix-circuit-winding-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2017-fina-diving-grand-prix-circuit-winding-down\/","title":{"rendered":"FINA Diving Grand Prix 2017 Circuit Winding Down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The penultimate leg of the FINA Diving Grand Prix 2017 drew to a close on Sunday November 5, as local heroes , <strong>Mark<\/strong> and <strong>Timothy Lee<\/strong> scored exactly 366 points to finish in third place in the men&#8217;s 3m synchro behind the Republic of Korea\u2019s <strong>Kim Yeongnam<\/strong> and <strong>Woo Haram<\/strong> (438.18), and Russia\u2019s <strong>Vlacheslav Novoselov<\/strong> and <strong>Evgenii Novoselov<\/strong> (396.90).<\/p>\n<p>The last competition day was also highlighted by the DPR Korea&#8217;s pair formed of <strong>Kim Mi Hwa<\/strong> and <strong>Kim Kwang Hui<\/strong> leading in the women\u2019s synchro 10m, as the young divers scored 311.94 points.<br \/>\n<strong>Suji Kim<\/strong> and <strong>Cho Eunbi<\/strong> (KOR) claimed the silver medal with 298.71 points and Great Britain\u2019s <strong>Emily Martin<\/strong> and <strong>Eden Cheng<\/strong> took home the bronze with 250.62 points.<\/p>\n<p>World Champion, <strong>Wang Han<\/strong> (CHN) settled for silver (363.90) in the women&#8217;s 3m event in Singapore, while teammate <strong>Chen Yiwen<\/strong> defeated her (368.35). <strong>Suji Kim<\/strong> of the Republic of Korea claimed the bronze with a score of 322.35.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tai Xiaohu<\/strong> (CHN) clinched China gold in the men&#8217;s 10m as he fought off the challenge from Australia\u2019s <strong>Brodie Scapens<\/strong> and Great Britain\u2019s <strong>Kyle Kothari<\/strong>. Tai, who had also won in Malaysia a week ago, finished with a score of 460.45, with Scapens\u2019 score of 438.20 good for the silver and Kothari repeating his feat of a bronze medal from Malaysia with a score of 413.95.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the competition, <strong>Kim Yeongnam<\/strong> (KOR) clinched gold in the men\u2019s 3m final ahead of World champion <strong>Peng Jian Feng<\/strong> and <strong>Liu Cheng Ming<\/strong> of China on Day 2 of the FINA Diving Grand Prix at the OCBC Aquatic Centre.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kim Yeongnam<\/strong> also won Korea another gold medal when he teamed up with <strong>Woo Haram<\/strong> as they beat Belarus\u2019 <strong>Vadim Kaptur<\/strong> and <strong>Artsiom Barouski<\/strong> in the men\u2019s 10m synchro event, scoring 381.27 to the Belarussians\u2019 376.17. Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Oleg Serbin<\/strong> and <strong>Yevgen Naumenko<\/strong> finished third with a score of 347.58.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain took its first and unique gold medal as <strong>Scarlett Mew Jensen<\/strong> and <strong>Yasmin Harper<\/strong> narrowly edged out the pairs from Australia and Republic of Korea to take first place in the women\u2019s 3m synchro. Jensen and Harper scored a total of 278.58 from their five dives, beating <strong>Alysha Koloi<\/strong> and <strong>Kate Rosman<\/strong> of Australia by just six points, with the Aussie pair scoring 272.49. <strong>Kim Suji<\/strong> \/ <strong>Cho Eunbi<\/strong> of Korea scored 272.22 points.<\/p>\n<p>Korea took gold in both mixed events with Kim Suji \/ Woo Haram (287.52) for the 3m event and Cho Eunbi \/ Kim Yeongnam in the 10m (290.10)<\/p>\n<p>Republic of Korea finished as the top nation with 5 golds, followed by China with 3, and Great Britain and the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea with 1 gold each.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 circuit of the Grand Prix concludes next weekend in Gold Coast, Australia.<\/p>\n<h3>Medallists in Singapore (all detailed results)<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Men<\/strong><br \/>\n3m &#8211; 1.
