STANFORD, California, October 14. KRISTIAN Ipsen in his collegiate debut swept the one and three-meter as Stanford (3-0)took home the top spot in 11 of the 13 events in a dual meet with Hawai'i (0-2) 149-71 on Friday afternoon.
\nIpsen, in a tune-up prior to competing at the Pan American Games next week tallied the top one-meter score with a mark of 364.28 and bettered it in the three-meter with a tally of 385.95. Freshman Connor Kuremsky was third in both events to his classmate.<\/p>\n
Across the way on the lanes, fellow freshman David Nolan picked up dual victories in the 200 free(1:38.40) and 200 back (1:46.57). The 200 back, the freshman's time of 1:46.57 was better than juniors Matthew Swanston (1:47.86) and Matt Thompson (1:49.45). Freshman Sebastian Wigstrom was also a winner in the 200 breast (2:04.82).<\/p>\n
In the longer distance freestyles Chad La Tourette won the 1000 free (9:07.77) and Michael Zoldos was a winner in the 500 free (4:34.77).<\/p>\n
Geoff Cheah had the fastest 100 free time (44.36) ahead of teammate Aaron Wayne (44.73).<\/p>\n
The Cardinal men travel to Stockton on Saturday for the Pacific Invitational.<\/p>\n
