The UVA women won by a score of 182-115, and the men took down Duke 169-131.<\/p>\n<p>The Cavalier women picked up sweeps of the backstroke events with <strong>Emma Seiberlich<\/strong> winning both the 100 (54.91) and 200 (1:58.40), and teammate <strong>Mary Claire Tansill<\/strong> won both the 100 (1:02.95) and 200 breast (2:16.87).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caitlin Cooper <\/strong>provided a blazing 21.55 anchor split on UVA\u2019s 200 medley relay, which also consisted of <strong>Abby Richter<\/strong>, <strong>Vivian Tafuto<\/strong> and <strong>Anna Pang<\/strong>, bringing the team to a win in 1:40.61. Cooper also won the 50 free in 22.50, while <strong>Eryn Eddy<\/strong> touched out Cooper to win the 100 free, 50.03 to 50.06.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morgan Hill<\/strong> won the 200 free for UVA in 1:47.50, and teammate <strong>Jen Marrkand <\/strong>won the 200 fly (1:56.63). Hill, Eddy, Pang and Cooper took first in the 200 free relay in 1:30.48.<\/p>\n<p>Duke\u2019s women picked up top honors with from <strong>Verity Abel <\/strong>in the 1000 (9:59.84) and 500 free (4:56.72), while <strong>Alyssa Marsh<\/strong> won the 100 fly (53.78) and <strong>Leah Goldman<\/strong> took first in the 100 IM (56.52).<\/p>\n<p>Virginia\u2019s victorious men\u2019s team had three double winners on the day, with <strong>Brendan Casey <\/strong>taking the 1000 (9:17.13) and 500 free (4:30.51), while <strong>Bryce Keblish<\/strong> won the 100 fly (48.21) and 100 IM (50.47).<\/p>\n<p>UVA freshmen <strong>Matthew Otto <\/strong>and <strong>Kiefer Barnum<\/strong> tied for the win in the 100 breast, touching in 55.61, and Otto later added a win in the 200 breast (1:59.98). The only other individual winner for the Cavaliers was <strong>Zach Fong <\/strong>in the 200 fly (1:48.02).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke Georgiadis<\/strong>, Fong, <strong>Ryan Baker <\/strong>and <strong>Joe Clark<\/strong> rounded out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay (1:22.01).<\/p>\n<p>Duke\u2019s <strong>Yusuke Legard <\/strong>won both the 200 (1:38.36) and 100 free (44.27), and <strong>Max St. George <\/strong>swept the 100 (47.76) and 200 back (1:46.65). <strong>Miles Williams<\/strong> added a win in the 50 free (20.43) for the Blue Devils.<\/p>\n<p>Duke\u2019s St. George, <strong>Sean Tate<\/strong>, Legard and Williams won the men\u2019s 200 medley relay in 1:28.64.<\/p>\n<p>In diving, Duke\u2019s <strong>Mary Ellen Targonski<\/strong> won the women\u2019s one-meter (284.40), while Virginia\u2019s <strong>Kylie Towbin<\/strong> took first on the women\u2019s three-meter board (305.48). Duke swept the two men\u2019s diving wins, with <strong>Evan Moretti <\/strong>winning one-meter (360.75) and <strong>Nathaniel Hernandez<\/strong> three-meter (371.70).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2017-duke-at-virginia\/ncaa-college\/2017\/November\/3\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Full results<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tennessee at Louisville<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In a Thursday dual meet, the Louisville women and men were swept at home by the Volunteers, who made the four-hour drive north from Knoxville. The Cardinal women were edged out by the Volunteers, 156 to 144, while Tennessee\u2019s men beat Louisville\u2019s 170-130.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, the Louisville women were paced by star freestyler <strong>Mallory Comerford<\/strong>. Comerford posted a quick 1:45.60 to win the 200 free against the Vols, and she also added a win in the 100 free (48.56). <strong>Arina Openysheva<\/strong>, <strong>Lainey Visscher<\/strong>, Comerford and <strong>Casey Fanz<\/strong> won the 400 free relay in 3:19.22.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman breaststroker <strong>Mariia Astashkina <\/strong>swept the breaststroke events, tying with teammate <strong>Morgan Friesen<\/strong> in the 100 breast in 1:02.55 before winning the 200-yard event in 2:13.72. Louisville\u2019s only other women\u2019s win came from freshman Openysheva, who touched in 22.97 in the 50 free.<\/p>\n<p>For the Cardinal men, <strong>Andrej Barna<\/strong> won the 50 (20.15) and 100 free (44.72), while <strong>Marcelo Acosta <\/strong>won the 1000 free (9:05.20), <strong>Zach Harting <\/strong>took first in the 200 fly (1:46.41), and <strong>Nick Albiero <\/strong>won the 200 back (1:45.38).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlos Claverie <\/strong>finished well behind Tennessee\u2019s <strong>Peter Stevens <\/strong>in the 100 breast (53.93 to 54.83), but the senior rebounded to win the 200 breast in 1:58.60.<\/p>\n<p>Albiero, Barna, <strong>Nikkos Sofianidis <\/strong>and Harting ended the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, touching in 2:57.79.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2017-tennessee-at-louisville-ncaa-college-2017-11-02.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Full results<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>NC State at Stanford (women only)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The previously undefeated NC State Wolfpack were no match for the Stanford Cardinal Friday afternoon in Palo Alto, Calif., falling by a score of 189 to 104.<\/p>\n<p>The only event win on the afternoon came from sprinter <strong>Ky-Lee Perry<\/strong>, who took first in the 50 free in 22.57. Perry was also second in the 100 free, but she could not hold off <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> and finished two tenths behind, 49.25 to 49.45.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Moore <\/strong>could not keep pace with Ledecky in the 1000 free, finishing second in 9:18.19, and she was just edged out by <strong>Katie Drabot <\/strong>for the win in the 500 free, 4:43.20 to 4:43.54. On day one, Panther swimmers and divers took first in 16 events, including all four relays.<\/p>\n<p>The only double winner on the day was <strong>Valerie Daigneault<\/strong>, who won the 100 back (55.16) and 200 IM (2:02.69). Teammate <strong>Rachel Brown <\/strong>won the 50 free (23.27), <strong>Amanda Richey<\/strong> won the 1000 free (9:54.66), and <strong>Lina Rathsack<\/strong> was first in the 100 breast (1:03.37).<\/p>\n<p>Individual event winners for the Pitt men included <strong>Cannon Ellis <\/strong>in the 50 free (20.95), <strong>Armin Remenyi<\/strong> in the 1000 free (9:18.96), <strong>Bence Szucsik<\/strong> in the 100 back (50.48), <strong>John Fauteux <\/strong>in the 100 breast (56.30), <strong>Eben Vorster <\/strong>in the 200 fly (1:48.52), <strong>Samy Helmbacher <\/strong>in the 200 IM (1:48.52) and <strong>Joseph Ference <\/strong>in one-meter diving (327.90).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Princeton &amp; Nova Southeastern at Miami<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Miami women took down Nova Southeastern at home but could not keep pace with the Princeton Tigers, falling by a score of 198.5-100.5.<\/p>\n<p>For the Hurricanes, <strong>Carmen San Nicolas <\/strong>won the 200 free (1:52.06) and tied with Princeton\u2019s <strong>Maddy Veith<\/strong> for first in the 100 free (52.37).
