Northeast Water Polo Conference (NEWPC) Top Five and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Top Five Week 9\/November 1 Polls for the 2017 season.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>University of Southern California<\/strong>\u00a0remains at No. 1 this week as the National Top 20 experiences significant changes in positions No. 12-to-20 from the October 25 voting.<\/p>\n<p>Minor adjustments occur in the Division III Top 10 Poll with\u00a0<strong>Pomona-Pitzer Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0sticking at No. 1 with the majority of the teams remaining positioned in their same berths from last week.<\/p>\n<p>Defending Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Champion\u00a0<strong>Bucknell University<\/strong>\u00a0hangs onto the top spot in the MAWPC Top Five rankings as a unanimous top selection, while defending Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion\u00a0<strong>Harvard University<\/strong>\u00a0return to the No. 1 spot in the NWPC Top Five.<\/p>\n<p>Voted on by a panel of coaches from the MAWPC, NEWPC, Golden Coast Conference, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), SCIAC and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the polls will be compiled and released\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_483741555\">on Wednesday<\/span>\u00a0during each week of the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2017 Men\u2019s Varsity National Top 20 (Week 9\/November 1)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The<strong>\u00a0University of Southern California\u00a0<\/strong>retains its position on top for the fifth week in a row by staying at No. 1 in the Week 9\/November 1 Men\u2019s Varsity National Top 20 Poll.<\/p>\n<p>USC (99 points), which loses its position as a unanimous top selection, leads a Top 20 in which no changes occur in the Top 11.<\/p>\n<p>Defending National Champion the<strong>\u00a0University of California<\/strong>\u00a0(96 points), the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Los Angeles<\/strong>\u00a0(90 points),\u00a0<strong>Stanford University<\/strong>\u00a0(86 points),\u00a0<strong>University of the Pacific\u00a0<\/strong>(80 points), the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Irvine<\/strong>\u00a0(74 points),\u00a0<strong>Long Beach State University\u00a0<\/strong>(70 points),\u00a0<strong>Pepperdine University<\/strong>\u00a0(66 points), the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Davis\u00a0<\/strong>(61 points), the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Santa Barbara<\/strong>\u00a0(55 points) and\u00a0<strong>San Jose State University<\/strong>\u00a0(48 points) follow the Trojans at No. 2-to-11, respectively, as the majority of the poll remains unchanged from the Week 8\/October 25 voting.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>University of California-San Diego<\/strong>\u00a0(43 points) and\u00a0<strong>Harvard University<\/strong>\u00a0(41 points) both move up one place to take over at No. 12 and 13, respectively, while\u00a0<strong>Princeton University<\/strong>\u00a0(36 points) falls two spots to No. 14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>St. Francis College Brooklyn<\/strong>\u00a0(26 points) is the biggest mover this week as the Terriers improve four slots from No. 19-to-15 with\u00a0<strong>Brown University<\/strong>\u00a0(21 points) and\u00a0<strong>Pomona-Pitzer Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0(21 points) tied at No. 16.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bucknell University<\/strong>\u00a0(20 points),\u00a0<strong>California Baptist University<\/strong>\u00a0(13 points) and\u00a0<strong>Santa Clara University<\/strong>\u00a0(3 points) complete the Top 20.<\/p>\n<table points) leads a Top 10 which experiences minor changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Johns Hopkins University<\/strong>\u00a0(94 points) remains at No.2, while the\u00a0<strong>Massachusetts Institute of Technology<\/strong>\u00a0(87 points) breaks out of a tie at No. 3 with\u00a0<strong>Chapman University<\/strong>\u00a0(86 points) to take over sole possession of the third position.<\/p>\n<p>Chapman slips back to No. 4 with\u00a0<strong>Whittier College<\/strong>\u00a0(80 points) staying at No. 5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0(74 points) and the\u00a0<strong>University of Redlands<\/strong>\u00a0(72 points) exchange the No. 6 and 7 spots with\u00a0<strong>California Lutheran University<\/strong>\u00a0(68 points), the<strong>University of
