THE UNO swimming &#038; diving team opened regular-season competition on Saturday, hosting Nebraska-Kearney in an unscored dual meet at HPER Pool.<\/p>\n<p>The Mavericks had the top-placing swimmer in every event.<\/p>\n<p>UNO&#39;s 200-yard relay team of freshmen Jenna Foiles and Sarah Blount and sophomores Christen Young and Ashley Kneifl won with a time of 1:57.28. Young picked up another first-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a mark of 4:53.88.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Colleen Klaiber clocked the top time in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.90.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Jenna Foiles finished first in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a 1:02.84.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore Tiesha Scipio picked up a pair of top finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (25.09) and 100 free (56.02).<\/p>\n<p>Senior Amanda Schulte led the pack in both the one- and three- meter diving events.<\/p>\n<p>The Mavericks hit the road next weekend, traveling to Air Force for a meet on Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. (CT).<\/p>\n<p><b>The above article is a press release submitted to Swimming World Magazine.
