Junior <strong>Jack Saunderson<\/strong> and senior <strong>Jacy Icard<\/strong> swept the respective Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Swimmer of the Week nods for the second consecutive week, while teammates <strong>Will Canny<\/strong>, a freshman, and junior <strong>Emily Wilson<\/strong> were honored as the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Divers of the Week. James Madison sophomore <strong>Carlyn McNeely<\/strong> picked up her first award of the season as well, sharing the diving award with Wilson.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEN\u2019S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:<\/strong><strong> Jack Saunderson \u2022 Towson<br \/>\nJunior<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>| Laurel, Md.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saunderson\u2019s second Swimmer of the Week award in as many weeks comes after the junior won four individual events over a busy weekend for Towson, highlighted by a tri-meet at Navy, along with Johns Hopkins, and a home meet <span data-term=\"goog_214213724\">one day later<\/span> versus UMBC. He won the 100 (48.97) and 200-yard butterfly (1:48.93) as well as the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.04) <span data-term=\"goog_214213725\">on Friday<\/span> at Navy, while his time in the 100 fly was a season-best for event, and leads all CAA competitors so far this season. He remained unbeaten in the 100 fly with another first place finish in <span data-term=\"goog_214213726\">Saturday\u2019s<\/span> meet, timing 49.04.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEN\u2019S DIVER OF THE WEEK:<\/strong><strong> Will Canny \u2022 Towson<br \/>\nFreshman<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>| Havertown, Pa.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Canny, who wins his first career weekly award, turned in a first-place finish on the 1-meter board (263.02) and a second-place finish on the 3-meter (268.65) in the Tigers\u2019 home opening loss to UMBC <span data-term=\"goog_214213727\">on Saturday<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WOMEN\u2019S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:<\/strong><strong> Jacy Icard \u2022 Towson<br \/>\nSenior<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>|<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Frederick, Md.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Icard continued her strong start to the season, recording a pair of first place finishes in the 100 back over two meets, along with a second-place finish in the 200 back. <span data-term=\"goog_214213728\">On Friday<\/span> in a tri-meet at Navy, Icard touched the wall for the 100 back in 56.16 and the 200 back in 2:03.94 \u2013 both of which are now the fastest times for the respective events among conference competitors this year. <span data-term=\"goog_214213729\">On Saturday<\/span> in TU\u2019s home opener versus UMBC, she contributed to her team\u2019s victory with another first place performance in the 100 back and swam a leg on Towson\u2019s winning 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WOMEN\u2019S DIVERS OF THE WEEK:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlyn McNeely \u2022 James Madison<br \/>\nSophomore<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>|<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Surrey, British Columbia, Canada<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The defending CAA Rookie Diver of the Year posted a sweep on both boards in JMU\u2019s season-opening win over CAA foe Northeastern <span data-term=\"goog_214213730\">on Saturday<\/span>. McNeely impressively won the1-meter (270.15) and the 3-meter (290.33) with a pair of NCAA Zone A qualifying scores.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Wilson \u2022 Towson<br \/>\nJunior<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>|<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Middletown, N.Y.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wilson came through with consecutive sweeps on both boards over the weekend as Towson competed at Navy in a tri-meet with Johns Hopkins <span data-term=\"goog_214213731\">on Friday<\/span>, before coming back home a day later to defeat UMBC. Her four total wins were highlighted by scores of 275.70 and 277.73 on the 1-meter, and 289.50 and 288.52 on the 3-meter.
