Division III Top 10, Northeast Water Polo Conference (NEWPC) Top Five and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Top Five Week 8\/October 25 Polls for the 2017 season.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>University of Southern California<\/strong>\u00a0remains at No. 1 this week as the National Top 20 experiences significant changes from the October 18 voting.<\/p>\n<p>Minor adjustments occur in the Division III Top 10 Poll with\u00a0<strong>Pomona-Pitzer Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0sticking at No. 1, while four other teams in the poll rise and fall.<\/p>\n<p>Defending Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Champion\u00a0<strong>Bucknell University<\/strong>\u00a0hangs onto the top spot in the MAWPC Top Five rankings as a unanimous top selection, while\u00a0<strong>Princeton University<\/strong>\u00a0surpasses\u00a0<strong>St. Francis College Brooklyn<\/strong>\u00a0in the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Top Five.<\/p>\n<p>Voted on by a panel of coaches from the MAWPC, NEWPC, Golden Coast Conference, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), SCIAC and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the polls will be compiled and released\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_911200022\">on Wednesday<\/span>\u00a0during each week of the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2017 Men\u2019s Varsity National Top 20 (Week 8\/October 25)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The<strong>\u00a0University of Southern California\u00a0<\/strong>retains its position on top for the fourth week in a row by staying at No. 1 in the Week 8\/October 25 Men\u2019s Varsity National Top 20 Poll.<\/p>\n<p>USC (100 points), which returns to being a unanimous top selection leads a Top 20 in which change comes to the Top Five with defending National Champion the<strong>\u00a0University of California<\/strong>\u00a0(95 points) eclipsing the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Los Angeles<\/strong>\u00a0(89 points) to reclaim the runner-up position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stanford University<\/strong>\u00a0(87 points),\u00a0<strong>University of the Pacific<\/strong>\u00a0(80 points) and the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Irvine<\/strong>\u00a0(74 points) remain locked in at No. 4-to-6, respectively, while the duo of\u00a0<strong>Long Beach State University\u00a0<\/strong>(68 points) and\u00a0<strong>Pepperdine University<\/strong>\u00a0(67 points) exchange the No. 7 and 8 slots.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>University of California-Davis\u00a0<\/strong>(60 points), the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Santa Barbara<\/strong>\u00a0(54 points) and\u00a0<strong>San Jose State University<\/strong>\u00a0(49 points) remain at No. 9-to-11, respectively, for another week, while\u00a0<strong>Princeton University<\/strong>\u00a0(46 points) climbs to No. 12.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>University of California-San Diego<\/strong>\u00a0(43 points) hangs on at No. 13 with\u00a0<strong>Harvard University<\/strong>\u00a0(32 points),\u00a0<strong>Brown University<\/strong>\u00a0(26 points) and\u00a0<strong>Pomona-Pitzer Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0(24 points) ascending to No. 14-to-16.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bucknell University<\/strong>\u00a0(17 points) and\u00a0<strong>California Baptist University<\/strong>\u00a0(17 points) move into a tie at No. 17 with\u00a0<strong>St. Francis College Brooklyn<\/strong>\u00a0(13 points) dropping back to No. 19.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fordham University<\/strong>\u00a0(4 points) and\u00a0<strong>Santa Clara
