In the last full weekend of October, Division III swimming powerhouse (#1\/3) Kenyon is getting their first bit of duel meet action where they swim at Ohio State on Friday night and host Michigan State on Saturday. Kenyon has only swum one meet and that was its own Kenyon College Relays October 14, where they beat (#3\/4) Denison.<\/p>\n

The number one ranked Kenyon men are headlined by sophomore\u00a0Michael Bartholomew\u00a0<\/strong>and freshman\u00a0David Fitch<\/strong>. The Lords keep loading up with talent as they look for their 35th total men’s national title and their first since 2015. They have a young team but they are pre-season number one and have already beaten Denison once. Granted, it was a relay meet, but it was still a meet where they keep score.<\/p>\n

The Kenyon women are pre-season ranked third behind Emory and Williams. They also have a pretty young team led by freshmen\u00a0Crile Hart\u00a0<\/strong>and Celina German<\/b> as well as returners in junior\u00a0Hannah Orbach-Mandel\u00a0<\/strong>and senior\u00a0Julia Wilson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Lords will have their hands full when they travel in-state to Columbus to face the Buckeyes, but have a legitimate chance at taking down fellow Big Ten foe Michigan State at home on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Another big Division III meet on the weekend is (#6\/7) Wash U hosting (#13\/NR) DePauw in non-conference action. Wash U is heavily favored in that meet as the DePauw women are unranked and the men got off to a less than stellar start at the Indiana Intercollegiates last weekend where they finished behind in-state rivals (NR) Rose-Hulman and (#18) Wabash. Either the latter teams are surprisingly good this season, (which may be the case in terms of Wabash) or DePauw underperformed. Either way, the Tigers will have their hands full when they travel to St. Louis to face Wash U.<\/p>\n

(#20\/19) Pomona-Pitzer is hosting Division II Cal Baptist in an in-state matchup in Claremont on Friday night.<\/p>\n
