This week will hold the first Big 12 head-to-head\u00a0dual of the season with TCU&#8217;s women&#8217;s squad taking on Kansas.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of Fort Worth, Texas West Virginia University hosts Seton Hall and Xavier\u00a0while Iowa State Hosts Omaha.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a closer look at the coming week:<\/p>\n<h3>TCU Men and Women Split Duals<\/h3>\n<p>The Texas Christian University men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming and diving teams will each host their own dual meets this week, with the men\u2019s team hosting Southern Methodist University today and, four days later the women\u2019s squad will host Kansas University.<\/p>\n<p>This will be TCU\u2019s first chance to race since their travel to the Sunshine State for the FIU Invite. All teams are set for fast swimming. The men\u2019s team is set for challenge with the Mustangs this weekend after being swept in 15 out of 16 events in their dual last year.<\/p>\n<p>The Horned Frogs do have freshman standout <strong>Joao Andrade<\/strong>, who has been their go-to guy for most of the freestyle events. Freshman teammate <strong>Radu Duican<\/strong> will also be in action, taking the backstroke responsibility. The other strokes, along with IM and relays, look like they belong the SMU this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Just three days later the Lady Horned Frogs will take on Kansas, who just came off two strong performances over the past two weekends. Kansas will certainly have the momentum but TCU is likely anxious to get up on the blocks after having not done so in almost a month. Despite the loss, they did throw down some fast times which bodes well for their dual against Omaha. Last weekend it was sophomore Anna Andersen who posted a 51.85 in the 100 Free, which should help relay situations for the cyclones as well.<\/p>\n<p>Sprinter <strong>Laura Miksch<\/strong> was able to swim a 23.86 in the 50 free last weekend, while <strong>Keely Soellner<\/strong> swam the 1000 freestyle in 10:24.91 so the Cyclones have many bases covered as Omaha attempts to beat them at home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Jason Tillotson.\u00a0 This week is set for some exciting Big 12 action as every team, except the Texas men and women,\u00a0is hosting a meet.
