MIAMI, Florida, September 30. THE three-time defending Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Champions, the FGCU women’s swimming & diving team finished six events before weather cut short the season opening meet against FIU on Friday night.<\/p>\n

After lightning and rain played havoc on the meet, FGCU was awarded the 66-44 win after six events.<\/p>\n

“The meet was going very well for us and we were building a big lead,” said reigning CCSA Coach of the Year, head coach Neal Studd. “It’s a real shame that we have been stormed out twice in two weekends. “It was a win but not really a victory, we look forward to seeing FIU again in the spring.”<\/p>\n

The Eagles will participate in a double-dual meet with FSU and Miami tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. in Coral Gables.<\/p>\n
