The Auburn and Texas A&M swim teams split a dual meet on Saturday. The Auburn men won 162-138 and the Texas A&M women won 171-122.<\/p>\n

In the men’s meet, Auburn\u2019s distance trio of Bryan Lee, Grant Shenk and Russell Noletto <\/strong>scored big points, finishing 1-3-4 in both the 1000 and 500 freestyles.<\/p>\n

Lee took top honors in the 1000 (9:18.46) and was third in the 500 (4:33.60) while Noletto won the 500 (4:30.88) and was fourth in the 1000 (9:32.87). Shenk went 9:28.82 in the 500 to take fourth and 4:35.65 in the 1000 to take third.<\/p>\n

Peter Holoda<\/strong> touched in 20.23 in the 50 and 44.22 in the 100 to win both events.<\/p>\n

Zach Apple<\/strong> picked up an individual win in the 200 free in 1:38.15.<\/p>\n

Luis Martinez<\/strong> swept the butterfly events, winning the 200 in 1:47.48 and the 100 in 47.66. Hugo Gonzalez<\/strong> rounded out the individual wins on the men\u2019s side with a 1:47.66.<\/p>\n

Texas A&M’s Brock Bonetti<\/strong> won the 100 backstroke (47.39) and the 200 back (1:44.18). Mauro Castillo Luna<\/strong> won the 100 breaststroke (54.55) and 200 back (1:59.85). Jing Quah<\/strong> won the 200 butterfly (1:58.88). Sam Thornton<\/strong> won 1-meter diving (382.65).<\/p>\n

In the women’s meet, Lisa Bratton<\/strong> won the 200 backstroke (1:55.90) for the Aggies.\u00a0 Haley Yelle won the 1000 (9:59.37) and the 500 (4:50.89). Claire Rasmus won the 200 free (1:47.96). Jorie Caneta won the 100 breast (1:00.93) and 200 breast (2:11.95). Beryl Gastaldello won the 50 free (22.51) and the 100 free (49.15).<\/p>\n

Auburn earned six wins, with Aly Tetzloff<\/strong> picking up three of them.<\/p>\n

Tetzloff took first in the 100 back (53.37), the 100 fly (53.16) and 200 IM (2:00.43).<\/p>\n

LSU finishes behind Virginia, Pitt<\/h3>\n

The LSU swimming and diving team finished third after day two of their tri-meet versus Pitt and Virginia. The women came up short to Pitt, 212-141, and Virginia, 251-97, while the men fell to Pitt, 203-150, and Virginia, 222-131.<\/p>\n

Like yesterday, the Tigers got off to a fast start, winning both diving events. Sophomore Juan Celaya-Hernandez<\/strong> won the men\u2019s three-meter springboard with a score of 413.20, winning both diving events at the meet. Lizzie Cui<\/strong> also won both women\u2019s diving events this weekend, taking home gold in the women\u2019s one meter springboard with a season-best score of 293.85.<\/p>\n
