CHESHIRE High&#39;s Ed Aston will retired after the season, according to various media outlets including the Record-Journal. Aston, 65, who has won more than 800 career dual meets, has also coached more than 100 All-Americans during his career. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;I&#39;ve really enjoyed coaching,&quot; Aston told the <i>Record-Journal<\/i>. &quot;Thirty-seven years is a long time. It&#39;s just the right time to do it.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>During his 37 years at Cheshire, his teams have won 25 girls state titles, and 18 boys state titles.  He retired as the boys coach in 2006, and will be finished with the Cheshire girls team after this season.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I kind of knew at the beginning of the season that this would be it,&quot; Aston told the <i>Record-Journal<\/i>. &quot;For one thing, I found it was getting a little more difficult while I was in Florida. Last year, I left for Florida right after the last swim banquet. I came back in mid-August. When I was down in Florida, you lose contact with the girls throughout the offseason. That makes it a little bit harder. I don&#39;t want to have that continue.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Aston, who lives with his wife Vivian in Jupiter, Fla., in the offseason, also stated that he has no plans to coach in Florida, and that this is a retirement.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Cheshire High is my passion,&quot; Aston told the <i>Record-Journal<\/i>. &quot;I wouldn&#39;t want to step into any other kind of situation. That&#39;s my passion. That&#39;s my baby.
