Swimming Australia President\u00a0John Bertrand<\/strong>\u00a0and long-standing directors\u00a0Nicole Livingstone<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Graeme Johnson<\/strong>\u00a0have been re-elected as Directors for a further three years following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) today.<\/p>\n

Johnson and triple Olympian Livingstone were first elected onto the Board in October 2012, while Bertrand was elected in November 2013.<\/p>\n

Swimming Australia CEO\u00a0Mark Anderson<\/strong>\u00a0said the re-election of John, Nicole and Graeme is a great sign of stability within our organisation and an endorsement of John\u2019s successful leadership.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most professional and best sporting organisations have clear direction and stability at the very top of the organisation,\u201d Anderson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis does not mean maintaining status quo, as we continue to strive for excellence and continuous improvement at every level of our organisation.<\/p>\n

Mr.\u00a0John Bertrand<\/strong>\u00a0said, \u201cIt is a great honour to be re-elected onto the Board of Swimming Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSwimming in this country is of national importance. It is part of our DNA in so many ways. But we still have much to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithin our high performance division, we have four key links which must be world class if we are to maximise our full potential by Tokyo 2020, these are; administration, technology, coaching and ultimately of course our athletes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a team effort. Each link on this journey is work in progress. We make no apologies for that.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithin community engagement, again we continue to build.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe newly launched Optus Junior Dolphins is a key link between the incredible learn to swim industry and club land.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are on a journey in partnership with our stakeholders from around the country, again, work in progress,\u201d Bertrand said.<\/p>\n

The AGM also featured a presentation of a signed and framed swimming cap to former SAL Director\u00a0Peter Mannes<\/strong>\u00a0who has served for 14 years as part of the Swimming Australia Foundation Board.<\/p>\n
