Division III Top 10, Northeast Water Polo Conference (NEWPC) Top Five and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Top Five Week 7\/October 18 Polls for the 2017 season.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>University of Southern California<\/strong>\u00a0remains at No. 1 this week as the first six positions in the National Top 20 remain unchanged from the Week 6\/October 11 voting.<\/p>\n<p>The Division III Top 10 Poll once again experiences radical changes with\u00a0<strong>Pomona-Pitzer Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0sticking at No. 1, but the reminder of the upper half of the rankings shifting in the wake of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play and the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Defending Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Champion\u00a0<strong>Bucknell University<\/strong>\u00a0hangs onto the top spot in the MAWPC Top Five rankings as a unanimous top selection, while\u00a0<strong>St. Francis College Brooklyn<\/strong>\u00a0rises to the top of the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Top Five on the strength of a victory against former front-runner<strong>Princeton University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Voted on by a panel of coaches from the MAWPC, NEWPC, Golden Coast Conference, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), SCIAC and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the polls will be compiled and released\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_141316028\">on Wednesday<\/span>\u00a0during each week of the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2017 Men\u2019s Varsity National Top 20 (Week 7\/October 18)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The only thing constant is change \u2013 or the<strong>\u00a0University of Southern California\u00a0<\/strong>in men\u2019s varsity water polo \u2013 as the Trojans retain their position on top for the third week in a row by standing at No. 1 in the Week 7\/October 18 Men\u2019s Varsity National Top 20 Poll.<\/p>\n<p>USC (99 points) leads a Top 20 in which the Top Six remain unchanged with the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Los Angeles<\/strong>\u00a0(95 points), defending National Champion the\u00a0<strong>University of California<\/strong>\u00a0(92 points),\u00a0<strong>Stanford University<\/strong>\u00a0(85 points),\u00a0<strong>University of the Pacific<\/strong>\u00a0(80 points) and the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Irvine<\/strong>\u00a0(73 points) sticking at No. 2-to-6, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural change in the Week 7\/October 18 Poll compared to its predecessor comes at No. 7 as\u00a0<strong>Pepperdine University<\/strong>\u00a0(66 points) jumps up two places.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Long Beach State University<\/strong>\u00a0(66 points) slips to No. 8, while the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Davis\u00a0<\/strong>(59 points) and the\u00a0<strong>University of California-Santa Barbara<\/strong>\u00a0(56 points) complete a new-look Top 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>San Jose State University<\/strong>\u00a0(46 points) is the biggest mover of the week as the team improves five spots to take over at No. 11.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>St. Francis College Brooklyn<\/strong>\u00a0(45 points) acquires sole custody of the No. 12 berth with the\u00a0<strong>University of California-San Diego<\/strong>\u00a0(41 points),\u00a0<strong>Princeton University<\/strong>\u00a0(40 points) and\u00a0<strong>Harvard University<\/strong>\u00a0(32 points) coming in at No. 13-to-15, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bucknell University<\/strong>\u00a0(19 points),\u00a0<strong>Pomona-Pitzer Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0(18 points),\u00a0<strong>California Baptist University<\/strong>\u00a0(17 points),\u00a0<strong>Brown University<\/strong>\u00a0(14 points) experiences significant changes in the wake of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Johns Hopkins University<\/strong>\u00a0(93 points), which downed former No. 2 the\u00a0<strong>Massachusetts Institute of Technology<\/strong>\u00a0by an 11-10 score for the CWPA Division III title, trades spots with the Engineers to drop MIT (89 points) back to No. 3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapman University<\/strong>\u00a0(85 points) and the\u00a0<strong>University of Redlands<\/strong>\u00a0(82 points) rise and fall to stand at No. 4 and 5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0(73 points),\u00a0<strong>California Lutheran University<\/strong>\u00a0(52 points), the\u00a0<strong>University of La Verne<\/strong>\u00a0(35 points) and the<strong>\u00a0California Institute of Technology<\/strong>\u00a0(34 points) retain the
