NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Stanford continues to haul in top talent, this time with a verbal commitment from\u00a0Morgan Tankersley<\/strong>, the 2017 Swimming World High School Swimmer of the Year. <\/a>Tankersley will head to California from Tampa, Florida. She’s a senior at Plant High School and trains with Greater Tampa Swimming Association.<\/p>\n

Last year Tankersley led high school swimming across the country in two events- the 200 and 500 freestyle (1:44.31, 4:37.60). With those times at last fall’s Florida 4A state championship she broke both state records. She also posted a 48.69 leading off her school’s 400 freestyle relay in state record fashion. While\u00a0her 1650 isn’t quite up to par with her other freestyle events, she’s certainly strong across the board.<\/p>\n
