In the first intra-ACC dual meet of the season, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets took care of business against Pittsburgh at home. The GT women won 183.5 to 116.5, and the men took the meet by a score of 168 to 132.<\/p>\n

Iris Wang\u00a0<\/strong>was the star of the day for the Georgia Tech women, winning the 200 free (1:48.69), 50 free (23.15) and 100 free (50.05) before leading off the meet-ending and victorious 400 free relay for the Jackets.<\/p>\n

Junior teammate\u00a0Laura Branton\u00a0<\/strong>won both the 200 fly (2:03.34) and 100 fly (55.34) and was also a part of the meet-opening and, again, victorious, 200 medley relay.\u00a0Cami Hidalgo\u00a0<\/strong>swept one-meter (300.90) and three-meter (301.13) diving.<\/p>\n

For Pitt’s women, junior\u00a0Amanda Richey <\/strong>comfortably\u00a0won both the 1000 (10:05.48) and 500 free (4:57.52), and teammate\u00a0Lina Rathsack\u00a0<\/strong>swept the 100 (1:03.26) and 200 breast (2:16.19).<\/p>\n

In the men’s meet, Georgia Tech had a quartet of double winners:\u00a0Roderigo Correia\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 back (48.20) and 100 free (44.49), freshman\u00a0Christian Ferraro\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 fly (1:47.14) and 100 fly (48.47), fellow freshman\u00a0Caio Pumputis\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 breast (1:58.34) and 200 IM (1:49.11) and diver\u00a0Matt Casillas\u00a0<\/strong>on one-meter (343.50) and three-meter (305.63).<\/p>\n

Pitt’s\u00a0Aaron Sett<\/strong>, meanwhile, provided the Panthers’ highlight of the meet with wins in the 1000 (9:15.92) and 500 free (4:33.46).<\/p>\n

North Carolina at Georgia<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For the fourth consecutive season, North Carolina opened up against Georgia and was swept. The Tar Heel women fell by a score of 172 to 109, and the men went down 183 to 98.<\/p>\n

UNC’s team of\u00a0Caroline Baldwin<\/strong>,\u00a0Caroline Hauder<\/strong>,\u00a0Emma Cole\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Maddie Smith\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 medley relay to open the meet in 1:39.98, but that would be the team’s only relay win of the day. Baldwin added wins in the 50 (22.20) and 100 free (48.50), and Hauder, a freshman, won the 100 (1:01.57) and 200 breast (2:16.79) in her first collegiate dual meet.\u00a0Maria Lohman\u00a0<\/strong>won both diving events (294.45 on one-meter, 323.63 on three-meter).<\/p>\n

On the men’s side, North Carolina took a win in the 50 free with\u00a0James Casey<\/strong> touching out the Bulldogs’\u00a0Camden Murphy<\/strong>, 20.94 to 20.97. UNC freshman\u00a0Alvin James\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 fly in 48.33. Sean Burston<\/strong> was the only double-winner for UNC, winning both diving events (376.20 on one-meter, 378.53 on three-meter).<\/p>\n

Dennis Stark Relays: Louisville at Notre Dame<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Prior to a conventional Saturday dual meet between the two teams, the Cardinals faced the Irish in a relay meet. Cardinals junior\u00a0Mallory Comerford\u00a0<\/strong>got her junior season started with some impressive performances, including a 52.96 100 fly lead-off leg and anchor splits of 1:44.79 on the 800 free relay and 48.17 in the 400 free relay.<\/p>\n

For the Louisville men,\u00a0Nick Albiero\u00a0<\/strong>joined new teammates\u00a0Carlos Claverie<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>Zach Harting\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Andrej Barna\u00a0<\/strong>to record a strong time of 3:15.91 in the men’s 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n
