Marstellar is from Newport News, Virginia where she is a senior at Menchville High School. Marstellar swims for the school team and trains year-round for the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins where she is coached by\u00a0<strong>Jack Bierie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>She told <em>Swimming World<\/em>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI am proud to announce my commitment to East Carolina University. The coaching staff, team, and university are exactly what I was looking for. I would like to thank my family and friends for all their support. Can&#8217;t wait to be a Pirate!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Her top times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Free 24.34<\/li>\n<li>100 Free 52.40<\/li>\n<li>400 IM 4:28.16<\/li>\n<li>100 Breast 1:07.11<\/li>\n<li>200 Fly 2:07.41<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Marstellar&#8217;s best times suggest she could head in a number of different directions when she moves to Greenville next fall. The Pirates will have graduated their top four 100 freestylers from last year by the 2018-2019 season. This year the sprint group will likely be led by swimmers who were in the low 52 second range, a great match for Marstellar, at last year&#8217;s Conference Championship. It took a 51.3 to get a finals swim at last year&#8217;s American Athletic Conference Championship.<\/p>\n<p>In the 400 IM Marstellar&#8217;s lifetime best time would have snuck into the B final at last season&#8217;s meet. Freshman\u00a0<strong>Victoria Gillet\u00a0<\/strong>(4:24.5) was in that A final last year. She&#8217;ll overlap with Marstellar for two years.<\/p>\n<p>Her club teammates\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/virginia-state-champion-alex-slayton-gives-hokies-her-verbal-commitment\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Slayton<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/vols-get-two-more-verbal-commitments-from-trude-rothrock-danika-katzer\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Danika Katzer<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/coast-guard-blue-dolphins-kade-younger-verbally-commits-to-william-and-mary\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kade Younger<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>have also given verbal commitments to college teams.
