GAINESVILLE, Florida, August 27. ACCORDING to her Twitter account, British world champion Gemma Spofforth broke her nose and a toe after a biking accident. <\/p>\n

Last night, Spofforth sent a series of tweets updating her followers about the accident:<\/p>\n

–\tHey tweeps! Just chilling in the er after falling of my bike and breaking my nose!
\n–\tDoing much better just a broken toe and broken nose!
\n–\tDoing much better!! Keeping me in over night incase I have a concussion… 15 stitches, broken toe and broken nose…<\/p>\n

She also posted a pair of images illustrating the damage, #1<\/a> and #2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Spofforth won the women's 100 back world title in 2009, and is an Olympic medalist contender for Great Britain heading into the 2012 London Olympics.
