According to their Twitter account, Team England has officially announced part of their roster for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia from April 4-15:<\/p>\n

Headlining the roster are Olympians Adam Peaty<\/strong><\/a>, James Guy<\/strong><\/a> and Siobhan-Marie O’Connor<\/strong><\/a>. Peaty’s lone Commonwealth Games experience comes from his 2014 haul, where he earned gold in the 100 breast and 400 medley relay but fell to South Africa’s Cameron van der Burgh<\/strong> in the 50.<\/p>\n
Guy joined Peaty for gold in the 2014 400 medley relay\u00a0in addition to earning bronze in the 400 free. Likewise, O’Connor’s 2014 run included gold in the 200 IM as well as four silvers and a bronze.<\/p>\n
While she may have missed out on the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and 2017 World Championships in Budapest, veteran Lizzie Simmonds<\/strong> has also made the squad. She earned a silver in the 200 back in 2010.<\/p>\n
“It feels awesome to be selected to represent Team England,” she said. “It will be my third Games and as I’ve recently changed coaching programs, this will be a great marker to see how these changes will position me against some of the world’s best.”<\/p>\n
