NEW COMMIT: Liz Boyer<\/strong>, a two-time YMCA National Champion has announced her verbal commitment to Harvard via her Instagram account.<\/p>\n

Boyer swims for the Cheshire Y\/Sea Dog Swim Club and Cheshire High School where she is fresh off two\u00a0wins\u00a0in the 100 breast<\/a> and 400 medley relay at the 2017 Long Course YMCA National Championship. Her efforts helped lead the Sea Dogs to the overall women’s team title<\/a> as well. She was the only swimmer to eclipse the 1:13 barrier in the 100 breast, taking the win in 1:12.94. Boyer also owns seven Connecticut Swimming resident and state records.<\/p>\n

For Cheshire High, Boyer won the Class L 200 freestyle state\u00a0title as a freshman. She followed up her win with gold in the 100 fly as a sophomore and then won both events as a junior in 2016. Boyer will look to repeat the performance at this year’s Championships on November 14.<\/p>\n

    At the 2017 Ivy League Championships, Boyer would have been an A finalist in the 200 breaststroke, a race where Harvard had three swimmers in the top heat. Her 100 breast would leave her in the B final, but it will be interesting to see where Boyer finishes in this event at the end of the short course season after\u00a0her stellar performance this summer. She would also make the B final in the 200 fly, an event that the Crimson will need more depth in after this coming year.<\/p>\n
