PALO ALTO, California, August 10. THE third night of action continued the remarkable pace of Olympic Trials qualifiers at the USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
Women's 400 free<\/b>
\nCurl Burke's Kathleen Ledecky dominated the middle distance event, and nearly took down the meet record with a winning time of 4:10.39. That swim just missed Lauren Driscoll's 2009 record of 4:10.37. Aquazot's Megan Rankin took second overall in 4:13.51, while Sarasota's Danielle Valley rounded out the top three in 4:14.78. A total of 11 swimmers beat the Olympic Trials cut of 4:19.39.<\/p>\n
Men's 400 free<\/b>
\nPalo Alto's Adam Hinshaw continued his strong met with a winning effort of 3:56.27. He touched out Dynamo's Matias Koski (3:56.40) for the victory. Mission Viejo's Logan Redondo snared third-place honors with a 3:56.69. 21 swimmers tied, or beat, the Olympic Trials cut of 3:59.99. <\/p>\n
Women's 100 fly<\/b>
\nReigning Swimming World<\/i> Female High School Co-Swimmer of the Year Jasmine Tosky of Palo Alto Stanford blasted through 1:00 with a winning time of 59.51. Sandpipers' Olivia Barker captured second in 1:00.64, while Y-Spartaquatics' Haley Lips picked up third in 1:00.78. 20 swimmers bettered the Olympic Trials cut of 1:01.99. <\/p>\n
Men's 100 fly<\/b>
\nLahaina's Renny Richmond ripped off a 53.88 to win the junior national title, while Denver's Clark Smith also cleared 54 seconds with a second-place time of 53.97.
