The Fairfax Station, VA swimmer is primarily a sprint freestyler. The senior at Robinson Secondary School is a multiple time Virginia 6A state finalist.<\/p>\n<p>At last year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/patriot-high-school-men-james-madison-high-school-women-win-virginia-6a-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">state championship<\/a> Schmid finished fifth in the 50 free (24.06) and seventh in the 100 free (52.65). She also anchored the team&#8217;s sixth place 200 free relay and seventh place 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Schmid&#8217;s\u00a0best times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 Free 1:51.63<\/li>\n<li>100 Free 51.82<\/li>\n<li>50 Free 23.99<\/li>\n<li>200 Back 2:06.69<\/li>\n<li>100 Back 58.43<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With her lifetime best times Schmid should be an instant contributor to the Pioneers. She would have been in the 100 freestyle A final at last year&#8217;s Summit League Championships. Denver had five of the top eight in that event, putting Schmid in a great position to walk into a strong sprint program. Her lifetime best would also make her a 50 freestyle B finalist.<\/p>\n<p>She told\u00a0<em>Swimming World<\/em>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;So excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Denver!
