Manoff is a senior from Battlefield High School and swims for Nation&#8217;s Capital Swim Club.<\/p>\n<p>Manoff told\u00a0<em>Swimming World<\/em>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI am excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Virginia Tech. I can\u2019t say enough about the coaching staff, the team and the spirit of the VT Campus. So proud to be part of the Hokie Nation!!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Manoff&#8217;s best SCY times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Free \u2013 21.14<\/li>\n<li>100 Free \u2013 46.22<\/li>\n<li>200 Free \u2013 1:40.15<\/li>\n<li>500 Free \u2013 4:29.39<\/li>\n<li>100 Back \u2013 50.21<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly \u2013 49.29<\/li>\n<li>200 Fly \u2013 1:49.11<\/li>\n<li>400 IM \u2013 4:00.09<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Manoff\u00a0ended his summer at NCSA Junior Nationals where he posted lifetime best times in the 50 (25.39), 100 (55.84), and 200 (2:02.54) butterfly as well as the 200 freestyle (1:52.94). He earned second swims in all of those, including a sixth place finish in the 200 fly and a seventh place 50 fly.<\/p>\n<p>The two time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was successful last winter as well at the Virginia 6A high school state championships. There he finished runner up in the 500 free (4:29.39) in an All-American time. He also touched sixth in the 50 free.<\/p>\n<p>Already verbally committed to the Hokies are\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/henry-claesson-gives-verbal-commitment-to-virginia-tech-hokies\/\" target=\"_blank\">Henry Cleasson<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/virginia-tech-gets-verbal-from-in-state-versatile-swimmer-dylan-eichberg\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dylan Eichberg<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ben-hicks-gives-virginia-tech-another-verbal-for-class-of-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Ben Hicks<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/high-school-junior-alex-wright-commits-to-virginia-tech\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Wright<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/virginia-tech-adds-in-state-talent-keith-myburgh-to-class-of-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\">Keith Myburgh<\/a>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0Philip Manoff\u00a0has elected to swim for\u00a0Virginia Tech beginning next fall, sending his verbal commitment to the Hokies.
