His best times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Free 19.81<\/li>\n<li>100 Free 43.44<\/li>\n<li>200 Free 1:41.73<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly 49.19<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Franzman has been among the stars at the always competitive Indiana High School state championships. At last year&#8217;s state meet he started <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jack-franzman-drew-kibler-lead-record-breaking-charge-at-indiana-high-school-state-prelims\/\" target=\"_blank\">the prelims session<\/a> off with a bang, anchoring Zionsville&#8217;s 200 medley relay in 19.97, only to go faster (19.85) in the individual 50 free. He posted a 43.44 to clear\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni<\/strong>&#8216;s 100 freestyle state record, but finish second, in prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Franzman wasn&#8217;t as fast in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/drew-kibler-leads-carmel-boys-to-indiana-high-school-state-crown\/\" target=\"_blank\">finals<\/a>, posting a 20.00 in the 50 free (still good for gold) and going a 44.13 to finish second in the 100 free. His team opened the meet in impressive fashion, though, clocking a National High School record 1:24.99 200 medley relay, including a 19.79 anchor from Franzman.<\/p>\n<p>NC State lost sprint coach\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/todd-desorbo-named-head-coach-of-university-of-virginia-swimming\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Todd Desorbo\u00a0<\/strong>to the University of Virginia<\/a> at the end of the summer. At Indiana Franzman will join a sprint group coached by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/indiana-university-adds-coley-stickels-to-coaching-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Coley Stickels<\/strong><\/a>. Franzman would have been a 50 freestyle B finalist at the 2017 Big Ten Championships.
