Thomas is a great butterflier and 400 IMer at Razorback Aquatic Club Aquahogs.<\/p>\n<p>Her top times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 Fly 1:57.84<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly 54.99<\/li>\n<li>400 IM 4:16.30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Swimming for Haas Hall in 2015 she set the Arkansas high school 200 IM state record with a 2:04.34. Last year she won the 100 butterfly in 55.70 to win the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/bentonville-dominates-arkansas-high-school-state-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">1A-5A title<\/a> in state record time. That record was short lived, lowered at the 6A\/7A meet that afternoon. Thomas also won the 200 freestyle (1:53.55) by a huge margin.<\/p>\n<p>She wrote on Instagram,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame! I can&#8217;t wait to be a part of NDs swimming and diving class of &#8217;22! Go Irish!&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thomas appears set to make an impact off the bat for the Fighting Irish. Her best 200 butterfly would have put her in the ACC B final last year. A finalist\u00a0<strong>Nicole Smith\u00a0<\/strong>will be a senior when Thomas arrives while B finalist\u00a0<strong>Erin Sheehan\u00a0<\/strong>will be a junior\u00a0and offer an excellent training partner for Thomas. With her best times Thomas would also score points in the 400 IM where she would have been a B finalist. In that event she would have been Notre Dame&#8217;s highest finisher.
