The Columbus, Ohio native\u00a0has given his verbal commitment to Ohio State University. Kuriger is familiar with his collegiate training grounds, currently swimming club for Ohio State Swim Club. His club teammates\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/arizona-state-class-of-2022-grows-to-four-with-verbal-commit-from-ethan-luc\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eddie Michael<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/rachel-peroni-verbally-commits-to-dukes-class-of-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rachel Peroni<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>are also verbally committed to start collegiate swimming careers next fall.<\/p>\n<p>Kuriger\u00a0is a senior at Olentangy High School. At the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/grant-house-takes-down-1976-olympian-bruce-furniss-500-free-pool-record-at-ohio-d1-state-champs\/\" target=\"_blank\">2017 Ohio High School Division 1 state championships <\/a>Kuriger finished eighth (1:41.60) in a loaded 200 freestyle final. He then earned bronze in the 100 butterfly (49.41).<\/p>\n<p>His top times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Fly 22.52<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly 49.03<\/li>\n<li>200 Fly 1:49.75<\/li>\n<li>100 Free 45.23<\/li>\n<li>200 Free 1:38.17<\/li>\n<li>200 IM 1:51.34<\/li>\n<li>100 Back 50.56<\/li>\n<li>200 Back 1:50.69<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He&#8217;ll join a strong Buckeye 200 freestyle group. Big Ten B and C finalists\u00a0<strong>Andrew Loy\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Vandermeulen\u00a0<\/strong>will be juniors when Kuriger suits up for the college team. Ohio State&#8217;s top 100 butterfliers who will still be on campus next fall include\u00a0<strong>Noah Lense<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Michael Salazar<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Henrique Painhas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I committed to The Ohio State University because I&#8217;m excited about the direction the program is headed and believe there has never been a better time to be a part of this team.
