THE YMCA Long Course Nationals got underway today at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta.  The mile events for both boys and girls took place on the first day.<\/p>\n<p>ME Lyons&#39; Shaylynn Spelman won the meet&#39;s opening race, the women&#39;s 1500 free, in 17:20.10.  North Shore&#39;s India Boland took second in 17:23.80, while Spelman&#39;s teammate Kaitlyn Ferrara finished third in 17:31.36.  <\/p>\n<p>On the men&#39;s side, Somerset Hills&#39; Bradley Wachenfeld took a two-second victory over Tri-Hampton&#39;s Shane McKenzie in the 1500; Wachenfeld clocked 16:16.53, while McKenzie touched in 16:18.67.  Sarasota&#39;s Matt O&#39;Donnell came in third in 16:25.51.<\/p>\n<p>The meet continues Tuesday through Friday with four days of full prelims\/finals action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By David Rieder ATLANTA, Georgia, July 25.
