The United States took charge from their scoring four unanswered goals to build a 5-1 lead after the first period.\u00a0<strong>Jordan Raney<\/strong>\u00a0(Manhattan Beach, CA\/Stanford),\u00a0<strong>Kiley Neushul, Stephanie Mutafyan<\/strong> (Los Alamitos, CA\/California) and\u00a0<strong>Jamie<\/strong> <strong>Neushul<\/strong>\u00a0in that run to build a lead Team USA would never relinquish.<\/p>\n<p>The United States scored four straight to open the second quarter, taking a 9-2 lead with <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_202053424\"><span class=\"aQJ\">2:17<\/span><\/span> left in the half.\u00a0<strong>Alys Williams<\/strong>\u00a0(Huntington Beach, CA\/UCLA) and\u00a0Kiley Neushul\u00a0started the period with goals and\u00a0Mary Brooks\u00a0(Fresno, CA\/UC Irvine) followed with two straight. After Hungary cut the deficit to 9-3 Mutafyan added another goal for a 10-3 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s offense came to life in the third quarter as they scored two of the first three goals to make it an 11-5 game with <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_202053425\"><span class=\"aQJ\">5:46<\/span><\/span> to play in the quarter. Team USA answered by scoring two of the next three goals on scores from Brooks and\u00a0<strong>Kiley Neushul<\/strong>\u00a0for a 13-6 advantage going to the fourth. Canada followed with a score but Stevenson had the last word on a power play goal with 44 seconds left in the period for a 4-2 lead after one.<\/p>\n<p>In the second quarter the two teams traded goals to start, before the United States ran off four straight unanswered for a 9-3 lead at halftime. Stevenson scored the first two in that run and <strong>Nic Carnigila<\/strong> (Lodi, CA\/California) scored the last two to build the lead. Team USA continued to pour it on in the third quarter outscoring Canada 3-0 all on goals from people named Stevenson. <strong>Austin<\/strong> <strong>Stevenson<\/strong> (Fair Oaks, CA\/Long Beach State) scored first with <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_202053430\"><span class=\"aQJ\">3:06<\/span><\/span> left in the period for a 10-3 lead. Ben followed with a goal moments later and then Austin capped the period with a power play strike for a 12-3 lead after three.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marko Asic<\/strong> (Laguna Niguel, CA\/Pepperdine) put the United States ahead 13-3 early in the fourth to start a quarter with a combined 11 goals scored. The two teams would alternate scoring goals the rest of the period as the United States maintained a large lead. <strong>Connor Neumann<\/strong> (Danville, CA\/California) scored with <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_202053431\"><span class=\"aQJ\">2:23<\/span><\/span> to play to give the United States a 16-6 lead.
