He came up just a tenth short of\u00a0<strong>Li Zhuhao&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>World Junior Record of 23.39 set back in 2015. She came in at 4:12.54, while Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Waka Kobori\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 4:13.08. Sanchez recorded a time of 2:13.88, the only other mark under 2:14.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ciara Schlosshan<\/strong>\u00a0took third in 2:14.36, and France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cyrielle<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Duhamel\u00a0<\/strong>qualified third in 2:14.69. The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zoe Bartel<\/strong>, already qualified for the 100 breast final, had the fastest split on that leg on her way to qualifying fifth in 2:14.83.<\/p>\n<p>Other finalists included Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miku Kojima\u00a0<\/strong>(2:14.84), Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Amy Bell\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.73) and Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Julia Bybee\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.43),\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.03) and\u00a0<strong>Drew Kibler\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.43) finished in 7:14.84 to qualify first by more than two seconds for the final.<\/p>\n<p>The World Junior Record of 7:13.76 should be on high alert in the evening as\u00a0<strong>Michael Brinegar\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Trey Freeman<\/strong>, who finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 free, join the squad.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cesar Castro<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Alex Ramos<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Javier Villanueva\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Francisco Arevalo\u00a0<\/strong>qualified second in 7:17.23, and Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Petr Zhikharev<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mikhail
