She would have had between 10 and 15 minutes between that race and her 200 back final, so the move does make sense, considering Smith placed in a tie for 13th in the 50 fly prelims and is heavily favored for gold in the 200 back final.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jordan Brunt\u00a0<\/strong>was the other scratch after prelims, pulling out of the 50 free. That eliminated the need for a swim-off to break a tie for 16th between Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Arsenii Chivilev\u00a0<\/strong>and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rodolfo Moreira<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The full session for the evening finals includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 50 fly semi-finals<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 50 free semi-finals<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 200 back final<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 100 fly final<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 100 breast semi-final<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 50 back semi-final<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 100 free final<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 800 free final<\/li>\n<li>Mixed 400 free relay final<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Top seeds for the finals include Smith in the women&#8217;s 200 back, Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrei Minakov\u00a0<\/strong>in the men&#8217;s 100 fly, Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rikako Ikee\u00a0<\/strong>in the women&#8217;s 100 free, Russia&#8217;s <strong>Iaroslav Potapov<\/strong> in the men&#8217;s 800 free and Canada in the mixed 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>In semi-final action,\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA is seeded first in both the 50 free and 50 back after breaking World Junior Records in both events in prelims.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The heat sheets have been posted for day three finals at the FINA World Junior Championships in Indianapolis.
