PHOENIX, Arizona, June 28. WHILE we are sleeping tonight in North and South America, Libby Trickett will make her comeback to the competition pool official when she races for a spot on the Australian world championship team. There's only one spot available on the women's 400 freestyle relay, and Trickett will be gunning for it along with six other speedy sprinters: Cate Campbell, Alice Mills, Melanie Schlanger, Ami Matsuo, Bronte Campbell and Marieke Guehrer. The time they all have to beat is 54.99, which was the fifth-place time at the world championship trials last April, though only the swimmer who touches first will get the ticket to Shanghai. Four men are also looking to get the chance to swim the 400 free relay at worlds: Kyle Richardson, Cameron Prosser, Cameron McEvoy and Mitchell Patterson. A time trial will be held on Thursday in the 200 freestyle as well for men and women for one spot on the word team. The number of competitors isn't as high as the 100 free, but we'll see who gets under the magical time.<\/p>\n
Jason Lezak announced on Facebook today that he and his wife Danielle are expecting their second child in November. The Lezaks already have a son, Ryan, who will be two years old later this year.
