More\u00a0records fell at the\u00a02017 FINA World Masters Championships with only more day of competition left to go in\u00a0Budapest, Hungary. Three women’s backstroke world records came down, with more than a dozen championship records reset as well. Take a look at all the records that were broken below.<\/p>\n
Russia’s\u00a0Maksim Ganikhin\u00a0<\/strong>set a new championship record of 2:05.28 in the men’s 200 butterfly.<\/p>\n Germany’s\u00a0Nicole Heidemann\u00a0<\/strong>set a new championship record in the women’s 200 breast when she won in 2:38.95.<\/p>\n Noriko Inada\u00a0<\/strong>of the United States set a new world record with a sterling\u00a01:01.75 in the women’s 100 backstroke, while\u00a0Papua New Guinea’s Ryan Pini<\/strong> set a new world record of his own in the same event with a 57.91.<\/p>\n Finland’s\u00a0Raakel Luoto\u00a0<\/strong>set a new world record in the women’s 100 backstroke, sneaking by the old mark by three-tenths with a 1:06.32.<\/p>\n Denmark’s\u00a0Claus Lerche Iversen\u00a0<\/strong>set a new championship record in the men’s 200 butterfly with a 2:09.96.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Linley Frame<\/strong>\u00a0hit the wall in a new championship record in the women’s 200 breast with a 2:47.27.\u00a0Vladislav Bragin<\/strong>\u00a0of the Czech Republic set a new championship mark in the men’s 200 breast with a 2:25.39, just a second off the world record.<\/p>\n Great Britain’s Jo Corben<\/strong>\u00a0set a new championship record in the 100 backstroke, touching in 1:08.60, while Turkey’s\u00a0Serkan Atasay<\/strong>\u00a0was less than a second off the world record with his championship record in the same event (1:00.97).<\/p>\n Italy’s\u00a0Carlo Travaini<\/strong>\u00a0broke the championship record in the men’s 200 breaststroke with a 2:32.55.<\/p>\n Denmark’s\u00a0Pia Thulstrup\u00a0<\/strong>was just half a second off the world record in the women’s 200 breast when she set a new championship record of 3:03.11.<\/p>\n Canada’s\u00a0Denyse Senechal<\/strong>\u00a0set a new championship record in the women’s 100 backstroke with a 1:16.81.<\/p>\n New Zealand’s\u00a0Robyn Crotty<\/strong>\u00a0broke the championship record in the women’s 200 butterfly, hitting the wall in 2:44.22.<\/p>\n Russia’s\u00a0Vladimir Gorkov<\/strong>\u00a0set a new championship record in the men’s 100 backstroke with a 1:08.61.<\/p>\n American\u00a0Laura Val\u00a0<\/strong>added another world record to her name, touching in 1:15.66 to set a new mark in the women’s 100 backstroke.
