NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Texas A&M has received a verbal commitment from local USA Swimming Scholastic All-American\u00a0Peter Simmons<\/strong>. Simmons swims for Aggie Swim Club and will soon be a senior at A&M Consolidated High School.<\/p>\n

Simmons wrote on his social media announcement,<\/p>\n

“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to Texas a&m university. It will be a pleasure to compete for my hometown and continue my education at one of the best engineering schools in the nation. Thank you to all my friends, family, and coaches who have supported me. Gig’em”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The three time Texas 5A state champion<\/a> is a backstroker and butterflier. His sophomore year he was the 100 backstroke state champion. As a junior he repeated his gold medal efforts in that event and added a 100 butterfly victory.<\/p>\n
