The last night of competition began with the remaining uncontested distance events. Alexander Nikolaev<\/strong> of Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics took first in 8:19, while Noah Vial<\/strong> of Corvallis Aquatic Team\u00a0took second in 8:20.58. Winner of the men’s 1500 freestyle Scott Pekarske<\/strong> came third tonight in 8:21.79. Each of the three top three finishers made large improvements in the event each dropping more than 10 seconds. All three blew past the 8:30 barrier, and Nikolaev went one step further to go under 8:20 for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n

The top two finishers of the women’s 1500 freestyle tonight\u00a0served to be a mirror of last night’s women’s 400 freestyle. Noelle Fimbres,<\/strong> runner up in the latter event, won tonight in 17:19.18 – her first time being under 17:20. Jasmine O’Brien<\/strong>, the winner of the 400, took second in 17:22.24. Kalie Novosedliak<\/strong> took third in 17:26.23.<\/p>\n

The women’s 100 freestyle was dominated by the underclassmen tonight. Following the distance events, Anicka Delgado<\/strong> – winner of the women’s 200 freestyle – took yet another victory in the women’s 100 freestyle in 57.19. Eleanor Beers<\/strong>, who placed third in the women’s 50 freestyle last night, came in second with 57.50. Sarah Snyder<\/strong> of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics earned her first podium finish tonight to round out the three with a time of 57.81 – her first time under 58 seconds.<\/p>\n

PASA came back immediately in the men’s 100 free, as Cyrus Morrison<\/strong> won in a new best time of 51.67. Dominic Dalpiaz<\/strong>, winner of the men’s 200 freestyle, placed second in 51.83. Ethan Luc<\/strong> of THSC placed third in 52.41.<\/p>\n

Jessica Pentlarge<\/strong> of North Coast Aquatics won the 200 back, despite teammate Anna Brooker<\/strong> having led by almost half a second at the 100 meter mark. Pentlarge’s stronger back half would lead to her winning in 2:18.02 to Brooker’s 2:18.17. Lindsey Soule<\/strong>, the first seed going into tonight’s final, took third in 2:19.25.<\/p>\n

Robert Moseley<\/strong> of Bakersfield Swim Club lead from start to finish to take the men’s 200 backstroke final in 2:06.75. Shawn Western<\/strong> took second in 2:07.47, while William Waite<\/strong> came third in 2:08.20.<\/p>\n

Tina Reuter<\/strong> of the Davis Aquadarts took her first victory of the meet to win the women’s 200 IM in 2:21.23. Tegan Preston<\/strong>, winner of the women’s 200 breaststroke and third place finisher in the women’s 100 breaststroke, continued her successful meet to take second in 2:21.91 – completing her collection of medals. Portia Del Rio Brown<\/strong> took third in 2:22.43.<\/p>\n

Runner up in both the men’s 400 IM and men’s 200 butterfly, Min Zhi Chua<\/strong> of Mission Viejo finally got his victory tonight as he won the men’s 200 IM in dominating fashion. His time of 2:06.47 led the field by almost three seconds, taking control during the breaststroke leg and never letting go. James Bouda<\/strong> of Kalispell Aquatic Team\u00a0took second in 2:09.33 and Andy Huang<\/strong> of Peak Swimming, going under the 2:10 barrier for the first time, took third in 2:09.73.<\/p>\n
