SwimMAC Carolina surged past Tennessee Aquatics tonight, widening the previously narrow margin to a 46 point lead overall for a total of 361 points. Tennessee Aquatics maintains a strong second place standing with 315 points. The Marlins of Raleigh knocked Dynamo Swim Club out of the top three with a total team score of 274.<\/p>\n<p>Flying into the finish of the women&#8217;s 200 meter butterfly was <strong>Alina Faunce<\/strong> of T2 Florida swimming with the time of 2:16.76, just out-touching <strong>Carissa Armijo<\/strong>&#8216;s 2:16.99 finish. Fourteen-year-old <strong>Sara Stotler<\/strong> touched the wall about two seconds behind the leaders with a 2:18.92. All three ladies dropped about two seconds from their prelims swim earlier in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>Lighting up the men&#8217;s 200 butterfly race was <strong>Seth Kyriakidis<\/strong>, completing the race nearly two full seconds ahead of second place. <strong>Alec Dawson<\/strong> and <strong>Joshua Legge<\/strong> followed with a finishing time of 2:06.36 and 2:06.78 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the 50 meter freestyle was a tight race for a top-three finish. <strong>Margaret Gholston<\/strong> gave Kentucky&#8217;s Race Aquatics a win with the time of 26.55, finishing a touch faster than <strong>Mary Arsenault<\/strong>&#8216;s 26.57. <strong>Alexis Mulvihill<\/strong> snuck into third place with a 26.63.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the men&#8217;s 50 meter freestyle was <strong>Nolan Briggs<\/strong> of Byron Center Aquatics in Michigan, with a 23.44, trailed by <strong>Matthew Lattin<\/strong>&#8216;s 23.71 and <strong>Ethan Churilla<\/strong>&#8216;s 23.87.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the women&#8217;s 200 breast was <strong>Delaney Carey<\/strong>, dropping a whopping 3.69 seconds from her prelim time to finish on top with a 2:36.32. The rest of the field was relatively spread out, with <strong>Saige Kemeny<\/strong> in second with a 2:37.21, and <strong>Desirae Mangaoang<\/strong> with a 2:38.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wyatt Foote<\/strong> and <strong>Cullen Tyler<\/strong> battled it out in the men&#8217;s 200 breast, with Foote claiming first with a 2:22.38 and Tyler close behind with a 2:22.42. <strong>Brett Riley<\/strong> had a strong finish to claim third place with a 2:22.77.<\/p>\n<p>The top three women in the 100 backstroke showed dominance of young talent, with 15-year-old <strong>Anna Freed<\/strong> winning with a 1:03.92, followed by two 14-year-olds, <strong>Ellie Waldrep<\/strong> and <strong>Brooke Zettel<\/strong>, for second and third.<\/p>\n<p>The Sunshine State shone its rays of talent with the top three male 100 backstrokers, with <strong>Lucas Kravchenko<\/strong> lunging into the wall for first with a 57.77, <strong>Conor Lynch<\/strong> in second with a 58.16, and <strong>Joseph Licht<\/strong> with a 58.22.<\/p>\n<p>Concluding the evening&#8217;s final event was the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 400 freestyle. The two stars, <strong>Elise Bauer<\/strong> and <strong>Madison Murtagh<\/strong>, went head to head in a well-fought battle, eventually yielding Bauer as the champion with a 4:20.71. Murtagh was out-touched with the time of 4:20.89. <strong>Anna Auld<\/strong> moved up to third place with a 4:22.28.
