In the 400 freestyle Hickory&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ross Dant\u00a0<\/strong>raced to a 3:56.82. The 16 year old took the National mark from\u00a0<strong>Hank Siefert<\/strong>, a 3:58.37, swum in 2015. Siefert, who swims for Coffman, touched second with a 3:58.95. Chambersburg&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jacob Greenwood\u00a0<\/strong>(4:01.87) earned bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Midway through the morning session the energy level in the Greensboro Aquatic Center rose when Door County&#8217;s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ymca-national-champion-max-mchugh-verbally-commits-to-minnesota\/\" target=\"_blank\">Max McHugh<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>blasted a new 100 breaststroke YMCA National record. The 17 year old touched in 1:02.68, three seconds ahead of the field and a tenth under the 1:02.80 National Standard set in 2013. Tonight McHugh knocked another smidge off that mark, lowering his time to a 1:02.64. He adds that to his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/four-ymca-national-records-tumble-on-day-three-in-greensboro\/\" target=\"_blank\">50 breaststroke National Record<\/a> he lowered yesterday.\u00a0<strong>Oliver Rus\u00a0<\/strong>of Darien finished second in 1:04.65. Third place was Lakeland Hills&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Chris Ruhnke\u00a0<\/strong>(1:05.67).<\/p>\n<p>Wilton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Catherine Buroker\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in the women&#8217;s 400 freestyle. Her 4:20.91 just edged the 4:21.00 posted by\u00a0<strong>Nicole Welch\u00a0<\/strong>of the North Shore. Finishing third was\u00a0<strong>Anna Durak\u00a0<\/strong>of Hickory in 4:24.03.<\/p>\n<p>The top trio all touched within .04 of each other in the women&#8217;s 50 fly. Ultimately the National Title went to\u00a0<strong>Monika Burzynski\u00a0<\/strong>of Fanwood Scotch Plains in 27.81.\u00a0<strong>Megan Sichterman\u00a0<\/strong>of Countryside was .02 behind in 27.83. Another .02 back was Red Bank&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ginger Hansen\u00a0<\/strong>(27.85) taking third.<\/p>\n<p>Upper Main Line&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brendan Burns\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first in the men&#8217;s 50 fly with a 25.04. Champaign&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alex Shilts\u00a0<\/strong>earned runner up honors in 25.19. North Shore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oliver Zmetrovich\u00a0<\/strong>(25.25) was third.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing a great week of swimming for Cheshire,\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Boyer\u00a0<\/strong>raced to the top of the pack in the 100 breaststroke. The 17 year old finished in 1:12.94. New Canaan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lizzy Colwell\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 1:13.34 and had ME Lyons&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Kate Overbey\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.45) on her tail.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tennessee-picks-up-verbal-commit-from-ynational-champ-bailey-grinter\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bailey Grinter<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>separated herself from the pack in tonight&#8217;s 50 freestyle. The Edwardsville senior clocked a 25.90. Fanwood Scotch Plains&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Darlene Fung\u00a0<\/strong>(26.33) and Countryside&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Megan Sichterman\u00a0<\/strong>(26.46) were second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Sixteen year old\u00a0<strong>Henry Schutte\u00a0<\/strong>finished just shy of the National Record in the men&#8217;s 50 freestyle. The Rapid Area swimmer touched in 23.06, just .04 shy of\u00a0<strong>Joe Bonk<\/strong>&#8216;s 23.02 National Mark swum in 2012. Tri-Hampton&#8217;s <strong>David Curtiss\u00a0<\/strong>(23.51) and Reading Berks&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Colin Gwiazdowski\u00a0<\/strong>(23.99) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p>To end the night York&#8217;s 800 freestyle relay blew away both their seed and the field.\u00a0<strong>Madison Nalls<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Marisa Gingerich<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Marget Shelly<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Leah Braswell\u00a0<\/strong>combined for an 8:24.06. Somerset Valley&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Catherine Meisner<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Megan Bull<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Aziza Ganihanova<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Grace Palfreyam\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 8:29.09. Just behind them in 8:29.16\u00a0Cheshire finished third with the team of\u00a0Boyer,\u00a0<strong>Tara Tiernan, Mia Leko<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Alexandra Tyler<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The final victory of the night went to the Powel Crosley YMCA team of\u00a0<strong>Carson Burt<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Dan Cashell<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Will Schwieterman<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Charles Leibson\u00a0<\/strong>in 7:48.49. They just edged Wilton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tim Joyce<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Will Suchy<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ethan Murray<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Jake Kealy\u00a0<\/strong>who touched in 7:48.54.
