The 22-year old former University of Texas swimmer has had steady improvement over her last four years to work her way into a major force on both the collegiate, national, and now international scene that has included two finals swims at the 2016 Olympic Trials and numerous All-American Titles. Head Coach <\/span><b>Dave Geyer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced the selection on Tuesday, noting the once-rival to <\/span><b>Michael Phelps <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cwill bring a great level of elite experience to our deck as well as international connections through the swimming world. We are excited to welcome Milo, his wife, and his son to the Tiger family.\u201d While Cavic has worked with the Partizan Swimming Club in Serbia and has also coordinated and consulted several swimming clinics, this will be his first foray into college coaching. Cavic himself competed for UC Berkeley, winning four NCAA relay championships during his time with the Golden Bears. Hungary\u2019s position in the final was unexpected, as the team\u2019s last international competition came in 2014 when they hosted the European Championships. But the Hungarian squad\u2019s unexpected run this year was buoyed by their home crowd, with more than 7,000 spectators on hand for the final match between the two teams. Hungary\u2019s inexperience showed in the opening period, with four unanswered goals putting the Hungarians in a deep hole that ultimately contributed to their 8-6 loss. Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2017-u-s-open-psych-sheets-released-ryan-lochte-entered\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">psych sheets for the 2017 U.S. Open Championships<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were released this week, confirming that <\/span><b>Ryan Lochte <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be making his return to long course competition following the recent completion of his suspension. Lochte was originally set to make his return to competition last month at the LA Invite, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-not-competing-at-la-invite-after-all\/\" target=\"_blank\">but scratched right before the start of the meet<\/a>. Lochte is entered in just two events, the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, and will be joining other US stars such as <\/span><b>Madison Kennedy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><b> Cullen Jones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Michael Andrew<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Among those world record beaters was British gold medalist <\/span><b>Adam Peaty <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">became the first man under 26 seconds in the 50 breast after breaking his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/adam-peaty-delivers-50-breast-world-record-in-prelims\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">own record in prelims<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/adam-peaty-unleashes-25-95-50-breast-world-record-in-budapest\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">then semi-finals<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The much hyped rematch between Russian <\/span><b>Yulia Efimova <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and American <\/span><b>Lilly King <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">resulted in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lilly-king-stuns-with-104-13-100-breast-world-record-meili-second\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">world record for the American<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, her first individual world mark. She added another in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lilly-king-sets-50-breast-world-record-for-gold-katie-meili-bronze\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the 50 breaststroke<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the last day of the meet. Canada&#8217;s <\/span><b>Kylie Masse <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">added her name to the record books when she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kylie-masse-finally-breaks-vaunted-100-back-world-record\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">broke the 100 backstroke record in the finals<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, at the time the oldest women\u2019s record on the books. Sweden\u2019s <\/span><b>Sarah Sjostrom <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also broke through after many near misses this year in the 50 free, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sarah-sjostrom-blasts-50-free-world-record-in-semi-finals\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">breaking the world record in semis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The US team was dominant across the relay events, including two world records in the mixed relays and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/united-states-breaks-womens-400-medley-relay-world-record\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a new mark in the women\u2019s 400 medley relay<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to close the meet.
